My chassis are prettier than your chassis and someone told me the cars aren't too bad looking either. Both 27's have 201 QC's, tube frames, and bod GOODSGUYS PACKARD 018.JPG GOODGUYS----10--25--14-- 007.jpg ies pulled out 2" at the firewall bottom for foot room.

  9. Here's a few shots from RPM Nationals this year. First two are of me and/or Mike Moore, the man who built my QC rear end.

  10. So now the T has become a test bed. I'm building a Flathead for Ken of the Rolling Bones 575 coupe and to break it in I wanted to get an actual feel for how it runs. So..... I just installed it in my T. Get to drive it too. I will pull it on Tuesday, crate it and deliver to Ken at Bonneville. See you all at Speed Week. ;)

  13. So, needed a little something better to beat Rich Roberts at RPM this year so I began work on a new 296ci Flatty for the 27 Roadster. I started with a rusty old 59 A-B block that was given to me by @Royalshifter last year after he couldn't sell it at the RPM swap meet last year. (you guys that passed on it, just wait till you see what you missed out on. lol!) Bored to 3 3/8" and stroked a stock Merc crank to 4 1/8". SCAT H-beam rods and Egge 3-ring cast pistons installed.

  14. Since the seats and ports were all rusty it was just natural to grind them out a little bigger and install larger 1.6" stainless valves. I installed a special "secret" reground camshaft and used stock hollow light weight lifters grinding the valve stems to get the correct lash.

  15. Just 'cause I want to use as much off the shelf stuff that I have I cut down a stock flywheel from 34 lbs to 22 lbs. Should spin up pretty well.

Top it off with four new 81s on a Tony Baron intake and a set of polished Offy heads and we'll see just how she runs. ;)

Old motor in the foreground, still a good runner and will find a new home in my pending 31 coupe project. :)

That's 12 lbs of vintage metal chips.....gotta be able to use them for something
you could almost make another flywheel!
