Projects Valve Cover Quiz

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Nicholas Coe, Apr 14, 2019.

  1. Which engine did these valve covers fit?
It's really odd to see only four bolt holes per cover! IMG_20190414_155947.jpeg

  10. He said thanks to the HAMB, he also found the original wing nuts and knew they went with the valve covers.

I just pulled a pair of them off the 327 from my 32 Coupe this weekend. I bet mine have been on that engine for the past 50 years. They are gonna be replaced with some Corvette covers. So (SPAM alert) they will be for sale (with the wing nuts).

How is it odd? They fit SBC 1959-1986, pretty much the most common engine there is. 1955-1958 bolt holes were staggered instead of straight across from each other.

I just find it really odd that someone can find a sbc 4 bolt per side valve cover as being a odd find. Must be hardcore Ford only type...I kid

Have you ever seen one of these super rare, very exotic engines? It's called a small block chevy...

Look out..total wow factor here. I have a pair of them ultra odd 265 Chevy staggered hole valve covers as mentioned earlier.
Ok ..ok ..I'm done, I'm sure the guy hates us by now..
I'm sure it was just a late April fools joke. ..right..well some times it hurts to learn.
Hey I got a neighbor that told me that when growing up his dad told him that there is no need to look under the hood of a car, that's what mechanics and AAA is for..and if they can't fix it go to the dealership and get a new one..he has about 6 cars sitting in his yard broken he says, dead battery, low water, flat tire, head gasket?are some of the needed repairs he is currently is driving a new Lincoln .
