Howdy, can anyone confirm The Saint had a truncated trunk similar to Jake's Speed Equipment or is it just the angle of the photo?

  4. The ex candies and Hughes car Jake's speed had 10 inches taken from the trunk. With the short trunk the car could get more angle on the wheelies. I drove it many times having alot of fun. The pic posted shows Jim Paulson the owner driving it for that race. The saint does look short. I don't think it's the angle. Cool pic I never saw another short trunk car from the era other than the tension car.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there were different windshields and rear windows available for the '65 B body hardtops that were rounded somewhat compared to the showroom pieces. I seem to remember reading that somewhere, and the rear window I remember seeing was on a Nichels' Engineering Plymouth that Paul Goldsmith drove at Daytona. The Saint looks like it is carrying that same rear glass.

  8. The black and white photo of the Jake's car at the Milwaukee custom auto show at state fair park. I would say about 1996.

I'd say a little earlier in the '90s at Chicago's McCormick Place. I took the photo.

The saint is a hardtop and the jakes speed shop car is a 330 sedan so to answer your question yes they are different but it is because one is a hardtop and one is a post sedan

Yeah, I get that completely. My question was whether or not anyone else has any knowledge of the different glass for the race cars. Nichels recieved some major factory support, and was still running the '65 bodied car in '66, which makes me wonder if the '65 had superior aerodynamics.

  13. The 65 b body dodge is the most aero friendly from the era. It's what yarboughrow used to set the closed course record at Talladega. The bubble windshield was originally a nascar item that found it's way into drag cars. With that said the fastest car from 65 was mr Norms car. It used a standard front windshield and no side or rear window. Norm said the car was much faster without them.
