    Hello,

Sometimes, it is not the best thing to do, to put all of your eggs in one basket. Are your bank accounts spread over several banks, in case of a closure or two? Do you have an exit plan for any emergencies? More importantly, are your historic photos from your family albums in more than one external hard drive to preserve them for centuries and future generations?

Unless there is a massive electronic wipe out of preserved files, no one cares about copied photos from the internet, the important ones are the photos passed down in your own family from generation to generation. Photos preserve family history as well as daily journals and well written notebooks. So, scan them all!!!

As much as it was fun to watch the colorful Ektachrome slides on a Kodak carousel slide projector, it was going to be difficult to carry 25 carousel trays, the dog, your family photo albums, your family daily living files, tax papers, etc. during a mass evacuation of sorts. But, as stated before, if everything is scanned into several terrabytes of external hard drives, you have preserved history. The rest can be replaced. The wife, granddaughter, son, dog, 2 hard drives, and two cars, that is all of the things necessary to save in an emergency.

    Jnaki

We have two 3 terrabyte external hard drives backed up and ready to go on a moment’s notice. They are small enough to fit into a small shoulder bag or backpack. No more carousel trays, slide boxes or even the family scrapbook from 45 years ago. They are all scanned in high quality and preserved in three separate drives.

For the hard core family history folks, we have a 3 terrabyte hard drive as a third back up in a bank safe deposit box. They all get updated every couple of months. Emergency, “shermergency”, it is all good in the world of preservation.

Spread it out, but keep it all together. NOT ALL IN ONE BASKET…

  11. I posted this awhile back in a general thread and didnt get much.
A good friend of mine (who has since passed) gave me this piece awhile ago and I am trying to find out more info about the artist, and maybe get a few more of his works.
Does anyone know anything about Ron Davison or his art? I cant believe that with his level of talent this is the only piece he did.
A Google search turns up actors, economists, and a 83 yo landscape artist in the UK
    Thanks for the info

  14. I took these photos yesterday. I hope they're artsy enough. I built this 37 Ford stroller 39 years ago. It's been used for my two kids and, then my four grandkids. 20190412_081545.jpeg 20190412_081905.jpeg

Ran across this picture on some guy's 56494474_10156240589482776_5550941124920606720_n.jpg Facebook page. Name sounds familiar.

  23. Mark I really liked your sketches, especially the digger pull'en the wheelie. It's cool how you can watch TV and, draw at the same time. You gave me an idea awhile back. I now take my sketch pad on the plane when I travel, just to kill the time. Thanks Ron.... 2141.jpg Looks like there's little model A theme going on today.

Thanks again, gents! When you're retired it's just another day, but not when you have the FAS to look forward to. Til next week, Carp.

Boy, that looks like Paulie Powers' Olds (Lemont, Illinois) back around 1963. I'd
love to see it again with it's medium green paint, black steelies and narrow whitewalls.
