I did P.I.R. all day Thursday. I have walked it in the past and tried my mountain bike but since last time I patiently watched craigslist and bought an adult trike with front and rear baskets for $50. It worked perfectly, made two complete loops of all the vendors without tiring at all. Seemed like a lot of people hit on the same idea. There were hundreds of trikes. I recommend them.
I did the Expo center all day Friday. One lap through the buildings, the rear lot and the front lot and I was done with walking for the day.
Didn’t specifically find what I was looking for but it was packed this year. P.I.R.’s website said every spot was booked.

Did the track on Thursday and then most of Expo on Friday. Went back today with the wife and did another quick lap around the track and then finished what I didn't see Friday at Expo. Bought a whopping one thing! lol A 600 CFM Edelbrock for my 40 Chevy.

I saw that as well - and I'd believe it. Not much empty real estate around this year at PIR. I was surprised how many empty spots at the expo on Saturday, though - both inside and outside. It was a royal PITA trying to navigate inside on Friday when there was a downpour outside - especially with dozens of mobility scooters blocking everything and the occasional a-hole who brings a massive parts cart in with them and blocks the dozens of people trying to get by. One dude had this two piece cart that was built to look like a tractor trailer. Kinda cool, but dude, have some consideration and leave that thing outside instead of clogging up the works.

I actually found/bought more stuff this year than I have in the last 4-5 years, and weather at the track was nice on Thursday, so overall a good/successful time.

Rain or no, we had a good year of selling. (It's always a good year when the heavy stuff finds new owners!)

Then my brother went and blew all the profits (and then some) on a '49 Hudson!

Great swap meet as always! Traveled from Alaska to see it again. Missed a couple vendors this year (old timers). Sure hope all is well and they return next year. Unbelievable deals to be had all over!

We walked around the track at PIR on Thursday, but didn't buy anything. Friday through Sunday we sold stuff at the EXPO, had a great day on Friday. The other two days were very slow. I bought one of rottenleonard's Plasma Tracer's from Hells Gate Hot Rod's on Friday. Then today I picked up a 28/29 Model A sedan rear fender needing a little love for $20.

I saw a couple of truck and car hauler rigs going past the house this morning like the devil himself was chasing them that looked like they were headed that way to pick up what they bought yesterday.
Sounds like you guys had a good time.

    Great time.
No big sales or purchases but we managed to stay dry and warm.
    We'll be back next year.

  10. was a good swap meet, didn't sell all our stuff. Luckily had a space inside the expo for the few times it rained. Did buy lots of parts for my current C10 project.

If you sold enough to pay for what you bought it was a great day.

That's a nice Hudson. I miss my 54 Hornet sedan I had years and years ago.

  13. I wish that was the case, but spent more than I sold, lol. Though I had stuff I ordered a month ago delivered to the swap meet to pickup to save some shipping. My C10 is a long bed I am cutting down to a short bed so picked up new bed sides, bed floor, and bed wheel wells, along with a lot of interior pieces.

  14. first one I've missed in 25 years... dang

  15. Great time as always and saw lots of friends. Didn’t get too wet, I was there wed afternoon at the track and left for home around 11am Friday. Here is my haul

  16. Here are some other pics I took. My friend Garrett went with me. He really wanted this 54 Olds last year, it was in a booth last year on Wednesday and then was gone. We figured it sold but this year it was parked in the same spot, same price. He worked a deal on it and it made the 350 mile trip home just fine. 324/tri Power and a hydro 2 owner car.

  17. Nice haul, nice running boards we had a set of 33/34's we sold from our space inside over the weekend. Small world with that Olds as they people your friend bought it from are good friends of my grandfather and I and we telling us the story about how the guy really wanted it last year. They are thrilled he got the car.

The Acropolis, steaks and a whole lot more!
Thanks for the swap meet photos Chris.

  19. Were your boards 1200.00? I saw some there they guys said were their friends off of an original sedan.

Garrett really hit it off with Chip. I think they were both happy. The Olds went to a good home.

  20. Chip and his wife are really nice people. No we were asking $750 for ours, I also had the set of 14" american's and the blue painted top loader 3 speed transmission in D hall.

Chris, I saw you and your buddy there but I didn't get a chance to say "Hi".
    That was on Friday.

  24. I hit the expo on Friday, The rain really sucked. I found lots of stuff on my list. I hit PIR on Saturday. Once the rain quit it was pretty nice. I took a left when i came in the race track entrance then walked the whole track didn't see much of what i wanted. Right before i got back to the entrance i came across a bunch of stuff i bought. I told my wife i should have went the other way when i came in. She pointed out that if i did i would have been carrying the parts the whole trip around the track. I have been coming to this swap meet since 1970, although i was just a kid then. That swap meet can be freezing cold or hot weather, you never know what kind of weather it will be.

  25. It usually always raining. I've only missed one swap meet year in my entire life, (my mother even walked it when 9 months pregnant to try and get me to exit, lol) and I can count on one hand with fingers left over the number of years its been completely dry.

  26. Stuff I found plus a few pre-swap buys

That's too Funny Doug. The first time I went there, I had a lot of "splainin" to do when trying to rub the mayonnaise from my burger off of my pants!

^^^I play golf across the street at East Moreland and then hit the 'Crop when were done. Best "strip steak" in town.

  29. I had gone to the swap meet for over 15 years and always enjoyed myself. I used a medium size red wagon that I bought after my first visit. Being from Alaska , I was always prepared for what ever mother nature had to throw at me . Carried it all + a cooler with lunch and drinks. Hand cleaner and assortment of tools , ropes , S hooks , bungees and rags . Was there from first opening till closing all days. Made the best of my time while there . Have not been in 20 years but plan on hitting it next year.
As for the trikes in the expo area , I can see a time in the near future that these are going to be off limits . They can be a nusence for traffic flow in these areas.

Hey Rocket, are you planning a Graffiti coupe clone with those chopped 32 grillsLOL
If you don't mind me asking what price on the bones? They are hard to find here in Oz along with 32 front bones.
I envy you guys with all the good stuff at swap meets. Went to a local one on Sunday and all I bought was a $5 button die.
