My first Round Up was in 2004 and I haven't missed one since. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the first Round Up was in 2002 and was at the House Park football field just north of downtown. By the time I'd heard about the event and attended my first in '04 it'd moved to Festival Beach. This was my favorite location....just east of downtown, but it was a relatively small area. Soon afterward it'd grown to the point where it needed to be moved to the Expo Center. It lost a lot of cool factor with the move, but I get the reasoning. It was a necessary evil in order to help spread the word and accommodate the increasing number of hot rod fans.

Here's a few random pics from the '04 Round Up.

  7. Ryan, Just wanted to say thanks for posting a shot of my deuce 3 window in your quick picks of photos. This show is bad ass cool. Sure wanted to make it this year as I had a blast there, but due to some un-planed surgery I will have to wait until next year.
Thank's for all you do for Hot Rods also...….

Well shit here I am at home instead of in Austin for what would be my 13th LSRU with no excuse.. Already starting to regret my decision.

This will be my 10th in a row, if the weather isn't to bad today. Typically I'll take 1000+ photos every year. Last year these 2 were one of my favorites. DSC_0739.JPG DSC_0793.JPG

Going to my first Roundup had a huge influence on me. The first one I attended was in '03, I think that was the second annual. I was a year out of high school at the time, barely had gas money to drive my '64 Cutlass down from Denton...crashed on the floor of Jason (elrod) and Mark's (markX) hotel room because I was broke. They snuck me a beer or two and fed me bacon for breakfast off their buffet plates at the Hula Hut. Since then every year was about getting your car or a buddies car ready to make the show. The question everyone always asked each other was "will it be ready by Roundup?" A lot of things have changed over the years but Roundup is still usually the goal... These shots are '04-'17

  14. That was 07 because Cezar Chavez park was under water with no chance going there without destroying that small parks lawn!

Been twice . What a great time. Was very blessed to get a HAMB pick. Meet Ryan and didn't even know it. Parked next to 383deuce All day didn't know till show was over. I'm pretty slow:confused:. I was registered last year but health problems prevented me to go. I'm going to try next year.
