  2. Is it Steel or glass? Steel, Steve’s Auto Restoration has a nice one. If glass, try Westscott. Both make top notch rolled pans. Or you could “roll your own.”

Curious, are you cutting the frame off since it doesn't look/sound like you are running a tank there?

Cutting the frame. Originally wasn't. But like the bobbed look and view of the quick change.

All now is steel. Prefer steel. But $$ might make me think otherwise.

I had my local metal man make me a couple for roadsters I built that were copied off pictures of SAR's pan. Cheaper and could be custom fit to the car. And please don't weld the pan solid to the bottom of the rear panel.

A little off topic, curious what size are your wheels and tires? Brand name of the Tires? Thanks,

  9. I’ve seen a car recently where the tank was notched and recessed a little further up under the car but I can’t remember where I saw it. Clean look though.

Truthfully that quick change rear will get noticed either way. I say run the tank.

    Nice car...

Thanks. No welds. Sinched nuts and button heads.

Go to tiresize.com. Great site for visualized comparison.

This is one of my favourites, although you might have to get all your friends back to lift that body off , or at the least, lift the back up while you tweak the rear rails up a little !

I like the shortened and lifted rear bar look ^^^. If I wasn't using a stock tank on a 32 I'd probably go with one like that.

Well I got a glass one do to spreading the budget.
    Nice finish and returns.
Puzzles me though why it would be 1/2" wider than the dead on original body????

There were known to be variances in the original body’s, as they were made in 30 odd different factory’s.
    Or just poor measuring ?

Ok. But, all the trunk lid margins are good. 1/2 is a lot.
