Cedar Rapids swap meet this Saturday April 13th at Hawkeye Downs.

    Consistently a pretty good one.
I always seem to find good stuff around the track vs the field.

    Anybody going?

Of course I'll be there. I've only missed a handful in the past 40 years.

I'm thinking of sleeping in that day. I hate swap meets. Just a bunch of old, used, rusty junk.

I usually go to this but am not this year, this is the first time they are not using the track. I called the information number on the flyer and the guy told me with the venue raising prices and dwindling attendance from vendors that they decided to not rent the track.....

    Awww shit - that sucks.

If it’s sunny I’ll probably go.
    If it’s cold / rainy I’ll pass.

  6. ...thanks for the notice,...mite consider going if the weather looks good;...swaps as a whole seem to be going downhill;...on the other hand, our Scrap Drive show & swap seems to keep growing a little bit every year,...and we try to keep it older parts only.

The fall swap last year there was lots of stuff on the track, the spring one nothing, but it rained hard! I will be there looking for more things that I don't need!

I bought an S-10 T-5 for $50, an engine hoist for $50, a pair of 27 windshield posts for $5, repro 40 subrails for $40, an early standard SW amp gauge for $20, and a big logo SW fuel gauge for $20.

Not a lot of old sheet metal, but that seems to be common at all swap meets anymore. I still had fun and will be back again.
