What are they out of ? Look real cool I’d say $50 bucks at a yard sale. Most yard sales by me folks are selling tea cups and commemorative plates!
That's the kind of sale I'd make a big heaping pile of all the re-sellable stuff and make them a cash offer on the lot. Some good stuff there.
The fellow that passed away was Jon Knebel. You could tell by rummaging through his stuff what an interesting guy he was. Among his accomplishments was building this kit car, a Glasspar in 1953. Article here: https://www.undiscoveredclassics.co...par-g2-and-ascot/member-showcase/john-knebel/ More on him: http://honoringmarinveterans.org/john-knebel/
You know you've got a problem when you can identify all that crap in the boxes and worse yet you might need some of it.
I read the car was sold some time ago. Just got back again, it's only a mile away from home. Got this small pile for $10. The new gauge says Lincoln, which led me to discover the other gauges appear to be post war Lincoln. Anybody got one? I sure don't need them. The big round speedo and clock are still there taken apart in coffee cans. Those V8 emblems Ford?
Yep looks like it, thanks. Almost bought this but turned it over, said made in China. Weird, sure looked old. $30
A little more on the guy, John Knebel. For you aviation guys, he was a test pilot for Convair. Flew experimental test flights on CV 240/340/440 and CV-XFY-l and VTOL "Pogo Stick" and F-102 and STOL "Charger" and PBY and R3Y Flying Boat. Doesn't mean much to me but my pilot friend who went with me was extremely impressed. Explains all those airplane gauges. https://airandspace.si.edu/support/wall-of-honor/john-w-knebel He also had something called a Trivette, a 3 wheeled car made in the '70s. https://www.vigillante.com/TriVette.htm I don't hit garage or estate sales much, only when I notice them in my neighborhood, and most of the time it's clothes, baby items, furniture. This was a much more interesting time, not just for the stuff for sale but also a glimpse into the life of a successful man. When I left yesterday there was still a huge amount of stuff, I expect the grand kids will do it again soon.
I've got a 48 Lincoln Continental and will compare the gauges. Your Lincoln dash picture seems to be the same as my car. The 3 panel pieces I think are different than the Continental , might be from a regular coupe/sedan. Movin/on
