    Hello,

I am the Eggman? Goo, goo, g’joob? What the he#$%. This happens to be some crazy lyrics from a crazy album, from a definitely, crazy time period in history. But for our age group, it was a mellow sound with a simple set of lyrics, that was very catchy. It is the lead in to the last few months of school, prior to the massive high school exodus to places unknown for Spring Break, or what we old timers know as EASTER VACATION.

We could not wait to get going on the road with our hot rods, station wagons, cars of any nature and trucks, too. 10 days of no worries, fun, great surf, dances, parties and relaxation from the humdrum of every day life. These days, the week long adventures, from being in powerful courses for 8 months, allows one final break before final exams and final projects prior to summer vacation. Of course, you teachers out there are also in this picture…a well deserved break from the always hectic curriculum and teenage activities.

The big Spring Break or Easter Vacation used to be tied in with the Easter Sunday, but public schools being non religious, moved away from that association. These days, the vacation is tied into a so called advantage for spring testing scores. Some schools have Spring Break now, in early April, when the official Easter Sunday is three weeks away. My, how times have changed.

Instead of using the generic ½ egg carton to hold the decorated eggs on decorating day, this project will have more meaning for your kids and grand kids. If you make your own Eggman and add in your own photos, words, whatever, you have personalized it for the massive egg decorating, dye infusion day. If there are several kids, a photo of each in color imprinted on the egg where the hot rod photo is, could be funny.

How do the eggs stay clean and dry evenly? Why the EGGMAN wraps around each egg to stand upright and dry. (think triangle, egg and two feet/wheels) Extend the arms out if you need more space for BIG eggs. If the Eggman is printed on heavier stock, it will be sturdy enough for the largest egg. Otherwise, regular 24 lbs printer paper should keep most normal, colorful eggs upright with the wrap project. (fast drying glue helps, too) The heavy weight paper just makes sure that they stay upright during drying.

    GOO, GOO, G'JOOB...

  10. Cool JNAKI, One of our traditions every year is coloring Easter eggs with the kids and, now with the grandkids. They love doing it each year. We color eggs for each person in our church every year too. Along with putting their names on them. Then we hide them on the tables, for the Easter Sunday sun rise service breakfast. We'll add your idea this year. Thanks Ron....:)

  16. JNAKI, Here's a (Story) It's funny you were talking about the egg man. In the early 80s I was visiting a friend in Dover Delaware. We thought the delivery needed a name. So we came up with (Eggs and things ) yeah, I don't know either. Lol So I became the Egg man. A few vintage photos. RON.... 20190405_094941.jpeg 20190405_095106.jpeg 20190405_094738.jpeg
