47 Ford car with original flathead V-8 is backfiring out the tail pipe on the passenger bank. Any ideas
Random. Not much at idle. Mostly under acceleration and part throttle. Pulled plugs and they all look good but put new ones in anyway and it’s the same
I’ll put a vacuum gauge on it and let you guys know what it does. If it’s a sticking valve is there a fix other than pulling the head off?
I would pull the plugs, pour in about a quarter cup in each cylinder and rotate engine by hand through several revolutions, or if you have room push it around while in gear. Might put a cup in the gas tank also.
