History Help me identify my grandfathers race car

I need some help idenifying this car:
The picture is my Grandfather in 1958 with his dirt track race car. He is very ill but pretty sound of mine and told me he thibks itvwas a 1939 Ford. I'm having troublenfiguring out what body style it was. The rear side window looka longer than a coupe but shorter than a sedan.

 

Kind of looks like a '38 Ford club coupe

 

1938 Ford Club Coupe look about right.

Am I correct that 37-39 were the same bodies with diffrent nose?
