Yes, I think the steering wheel is model T. That’s just some of the outrageous things they did to show cars back in the 1960s. He would have changed it if he had started to drive it on the street. Truck was only driven in and out of shows and his garage. Firestone front tires still have some nubs on them. He started building his 1935 Ford sedan delivery right after the 1969 show season and had it at the Detroit Autorama in 1970. After showing the sedan delivery he drove it to many rod runs and Street Rod Nationals until around 1983.

Wow, that is truly amazing condition, a very well preserved and truly original time capsule.:cool: Flush out all the fluids, check the brakes, turn the engine over and get it started and you're back in business. Hopefully the gas tank and carbs are OK. Please leave it 'As Is' and get it out and about and seen again, even if you trailer it around and preserve it for the next generation. It's only original once and many would find it hard believing that it's original and not a recent or new build! :D

Great truck, looks like it could go to the next cars show and compete very well with the current day builds. It's grate to see pre war trucks surviving.

  9. Cool how the upholstered spare raises with the bed cover.
Those tires caught my eye first.

  11. Flip it. The Steering wheel, not the truck. God, what a prize of a truck. Outstanding.

I don't think the owner will be asking anyone to drive it. Don't sweat the steering wheel.

That’s an awesome pickup, second only to his sedan delivery! Truly a master upholstery man. What a step back in time. Do you still have the sedan delivery also?

One VERY COOL truck! No matter what era it's cool as hell. The Olds J2 is a darn cool power train. But I may be a little bias! Joe

I remember the sedan delivery from rod runs around Iowa when I was a kid. The black paint and white tufted upholstery was very unique. Quite a truck, as is this yellow pickup. Is the delivery still around too?

I don't think you could open a Hot Rod Magazine in the 70 and 80s that did not have one, two or three cars in with Mcfall interiors. People would bring their cars from all over the country to have a McFall interior put into it. For those of you that are on Facebook, here is a link to a story I did about Jim McFall on my Iowa car history Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/permalink....Vik3SEKtmumRTo9u2iQujqFWu65nS10nw&__tn__=CH-R

The paint was done by Bob Brookins in Des Moines although I think the green panels must have been added later. I remember pin striping it as well. Jim did amazing work and upholstered my Nomad twice as well as my 52 Chevrolet and 41 Buick.

Yes, we still have 1935 sedan delivery. The paint sometimes looks black but is actually the original color Dearborn Blue. May post some current photos when we get around to taking it out of storage.

El Pratt, I haven’t seen you in years. Good to know you’re still around. Found a couple of faded photos of your Nomad from 1968.
