  6. Kids need a safe place to go. They need to be around those that will provide a good influence in their lives. To be asked to bring the car to help out the cause is a honor.

Good pics for a good cause. My daughter went to school for psychology, and works with young kids. She now see's simple things are important for kids. She never realized that just having food in the fridge when a kid comes home from school can make the feel safe. She has gone to some houses where there was just ketchup in the fridge and the kids would just be hungry. I think a lot of kids don't understand how well they have it.

With that Brian, my hat is off to you for helping out with the show, and helping out with kids.

  15. The eight carb setup is kid Billy's. It's a original say why and like mine was. It was Billy's setup that made me want one. His car is the black primer dodge that he built when he was 15 yrs old. I sold mine to one of his friends. It's going on a Buick nail head. Billy is a interesting guy. He is a engineer and aircraft mechanic. He is also one of three licensed air plane repo men in the country. He makes his money legally stealing planes.

Big block Chevy, but it looks different with the aftermarket distributor drive off the front of the cam.

  22. Mike was just a teenager when he was able to buy the 55. He did most of the work himself. It's full of very rare parts. He acquired several Spalding ignitions to make one that works. The intake and carbs took alot of work to. The timing cover that allows the distributor to be run off the front throws alot of guys off. The engine is a 427 as stated above.

  23. I forgot the willys engine photo and a few others. The 426 hemi in it will be pulled soon for a rebuild. The 33 Willys will get one to. The dragsters original owner has been located. It ran a 427 injected Ford. The old owner has almost all the parts to put it back together. 20190330_084334.jpg 20190330_084145.jpg 20190330_084736.jpg

Looks like it was a great day for an honourable cause, you can't complain about the weather either. Love the idea of providing the right environment for the kids and good role models, some parents could a lot better in that area and learn some valuable lessosn. Maybe a couple of future hot-rodders among them? :)

Not to hijack the thread but that Grant Spalding Duo-Coil distributor would be something you don't see every day, I don't see any vacuum advance?

  26. I dont know anything about them. Mike the guy that runs it went though alot of trouble to make work. There are not alot of guys to talk to for information. Mike persevered through it all and made it work. The car sounds great and runs even better. It's good to see a young guy with a good eye for detail.
