History Pour gasoline on it to polish it with a copper brush

When I first started my business I started selling ceramic coating. I did not know a hell of a lot about this stuff. I set up in Zephyrhills Florida put out my plastic bottles out with a exhaust manifold that I coated. A girl comes up to the booth and says I've been looking for this stuff for two years now. She didn't say stuff she said something else she was not very ladylike. She proceeded to tell me how she did her Cadillac manifolds with this stuff.And she said she liked it After you painted it on you poured gasoline on it and polished it with the copper brush. And Im thinking she's crazy I called my supplier he said yes that's true. It turned out they sold in bulk to somebody else who turned around and sold it as a high heat manifold coating .And that is where she got it You learn something every day

 

Yeah I just learned there are many newbies on here that are just plain NUTS and believe ANYTHING

It was a water-based high heat ceramic coating. She had bought it from the JC Whitney catalog a couple years previous. Some high heat ceramic coatings are so carcinogenic that if you put them in your oven you could never eat food out of that often that ever again. EPA would love those directions today so it the fire department. I think I'll keep my funny stories to myself dealing with you people for 28 years at the shows was an adventure .

TB 33 I get the impression that some of you don't believe this story. This happened around 1990. You actually think I would have enough imagination to make this up? I can assure you that this happened.

The gasoline and copper brush works too. It still hurts to pee but you don't notice it as much.

 

Just curious, was the product called Hot Jet by Mastercoat?

 

Maybe he's talking about something like this stuff? Kinda hard to decipher all the gibberish in the posts, likely related to him eating out of that oven he mentioned in post #12.
