  5. Goodmoring. I found these old sketches. Some interior ideas, for my delivery back in 04. I liked the early 60s show rods. I know they're a little over the top. lol:rolleyes: Ron.... 20190329_045716.jpeg 20190329_044756.jpeg 20190329_045308.jpeg

    Hello,

The latest “Easter Bunnymobile” is upon us. There were lots of RPUs drag racing at Lions during the time we were there racing and filming. We always thought that an RPU would be cool for a build, because of the big space in the bed for carrying parts and things…
    RPUs at Lions

Since seeing that red SBC RPU on the cover of HRM in 1962, much envy set in and it was the topic of discussion among all of our friends in Bixby Knolls. Over the years since, we could have used the room in the back for our weekly forays to the garden shop and home building shops. Yes, everything will fit in the modern, small all-wheel drive station wagon, but it would be so much cooler to have that RPU for the weekly trips to the stores.

Who left that mess loading into the custom wagon? A little too heavy, perhaps? A built in wheelie?

Latest hand oil colorized B&W photo art. Consignment for the Lindsley family of Jim Lindsley's dry lakes cars. His son Gary just found this photo, and wanted to bring it to life. This shows what I started and ended with. 20190320_152157.jpeg

Having the enclosed art on my office wall for years, I just had to let others enjoy as well. Done by Brian Frederick of Somers, CT as well as the pencil drawings of the cars I have built over the years. Thanks, Skip IMG_1091.JPG IMG_1092.JPG IMG_1093.JPG IMG_1094.JPG IMG_1095.JPG IMG_1096.JPG

Jim Lindsley was sponsored by Sta-Lube at the time, hence the colors on the car. A close up shows a can of Sta-Lube on the hood, which his son told me was actually a trophy. His helmet has the sponsor "S" on it. Sta Lube zoom.jpg .

Does anybody know why the Friday Art Show doesn't stay at the top of the page any more on Fridays. When I first joined it was always resting at the top of the pages, and stayed there all day. You never had to search for it. Just curious, not complaining.

I’ve done a few more Matchbox sketches and whilst out and about have sketched a few interesting vehicles. First is an English hot rod - sort of - it’s actually a vintage special. This one is built for trials (off-roading) with a 1920s GN cyclecar chassis and a very large v-twin. The BMW CSL was done at a showroom where I often do the photos - WilliamlAnson.com - I tried to use some of the techniques I’d learned on the Matchbox paintings...
