I plan on lettering it, just focused on getting it finished first!

At the age of 78 (according to your profile) I would assume you realize construction, maintenance, and campaigning one of these cars is an expensive, costly thing to do. If a racer can get a few bucks sponsorship or free parts for a decal or ad on the car, I say more power to him.
Zak has a sharp car and I expect he'll do well this season. Whether he has only the sign work lettering we have seen, or a whole lot more is immaterial. These are race cars, not show cars.

That thing sounds pissed off!!!! Nice work Zak

Also, your headers are worth some power cuz it’s a straight shot right out of the port for a good 6-8” into an easy 45* whoever built em (you and your pops I assume) knows a thing or two. Plus that thing idles so good, I don’t think you have any vacuum leaks!! Haha

Thanks! Yeah I built those headers, first set I’d done but dad gave me tips and helped me. Hoping they help some!

Just have to put the four bolts in the bottom bracket on each side and paint everything tomorrow. The ladder bar brackets on the rear end double as shock brackets, and bottom wheelie bar brackets. Trying to keep the weight down as much as possible.

They know we mean no harm! Lol. We don’t get out and raise hell hardly ever either, and I try to keep it at a safe speed. I don’t get too awfully wild. Lol

Dad’s about got his 57 ready, and the 55 just needs front and rear lexan and it’s pretty much ready to go too. Got my buddy’s 49 ford in now, making motor mounts for him, and changing the rear suspension some. Gotta have all three ready for shady Side on the 13th!

The windows are in. Just a couple more small details and the 55 will be finished. I’m more than excited to see how it’s gonna run. Everyone come out to Shady Side Dragway this Saturday April 13th and see the Southeast Gassers season opener! This car, along with over 90 other bad ass 4 speed drag cars will all be there, running heads up, first to the finish line wins!

Car went straight, no issues first time out. Gonna tweak a couple things and get it ready to race this weekend at London Kentucky!

The car is starting to come around! I believe by Alabama we should have most of the new car bugs worked out on it.

Those pics are awesome, Zak! The second one shows your head tucked downward.. is that when you are shifting, or resisting the G's?? (probably both!) You certainly are focused on that tach.

Still haven’t made a clean pass on the car. We should have it dialed in at Alabama though. I’m hoping it’ll run a 5.9x

I know how that goes. New builds can be very frustrating. Post some et/mph soon as you got some that you’re proud of!! (Preferably with conversions for us quarter milers ;) lol)
