fenders are good, no holes or dents

I want to make a hot rod. possibly.

how about a side view of the cab.

  6. it would be nice to see a side shot so we can see what it looks like. Just remember you need a lot of parts to complete that body, does it come with the garnish moldings? window regulators etc...? If it was a ford you would know you can get them, a Dodge may be a little harder. I started with a '30 Model A two door sedan that was completely stripped out and did not consider the cost of all the little things but at least I could get them all easy.
    How about that side shot.

I don't know but not a lot BUT it could make a nice inexpensive project. The frame appears to be usable. If I'm selling while 31 Dodge's aren't super popular if you needed some doors, a visor or cowl they have to be worth a few dollars themselves as they appear to be real solid.

It would be nice to have something different.

  8. Looks like the bodywork stalled when it came around to filling in the wheel arch opening behind the front doors. Still a decent looking extended pickup cab. As you stated, front fenders look good. I like the twin cowl vents and sunvisor.
BTW, body looks OK without a topchop.

you can have a stocker or hot rod here, but you have to have a rodent rod over yonder, way over yonder.

Yep, get rid of the RR nonsense and just call it a Jalopy. Crap rods aren't well thought of here.
I'd agree with around 500 being the limit on what to pay for it as it sits and that might be a tad high. You can figure on having to fabricate most of the missing panels as there is very little aftermarket support for those that I know of.

Besides if you are like the RR guys around here it means you have to have a 60K pickup and an enclosed trailer to haul it around as 90 % of them in this state aren't licensed and get hauled to the park to play show and tell and hidden back in the trailer for the ride home. The back parking area at a local RR show looked like out back at a Goodguys with all the tow rigs and trailers.

I traded a DB 1917 touring car for a riding mower and some T frames.

Just turn it into a cheap, street legal altered.

You have some very talented people here that can help you with any question you might have with a build like this. The term is generally used for lame, crappy ass builds. Not what is done here.

Nobody is going to push you to "restore it". Don't want pretty paint? Don't. If you want 20" bling, this just ins't the place. No big deal. Those places are out there also.

That thing has bad proportions. You could certainly do a truck like thing with what you have there along the lines of some of the old wartime truck conversions. I'e seen a lot of those; some with just the end of the cab butted to the doors and some with the whole back section. About half of the ones I've seen are a bit crude but solid. It's probably doable without changing the wheelbase.

If you want to talk to Rat Rod guys, they have their own forums like Killbillet. Folks here aren't interested in talking about that stuff and it's not what this forum or its parent site are about. No BS.

:) This made me smile at least...

The reality in my eyes is that the pieces as a whole are probably RR material, so if that is where you want to go you are on the right track. Lowball the crap out of the stuff, cause that should be the point of building said off-topic car. Otherwise you're a poser in the RR world as well. :D

As relates to the off topic-ness of this subject, I learned a long time ago that while I was posting on this forum I had better expect to get my chops severely busted if I post bagged cars on IFS, RR stuff, or motorcycle stuff. Severely. Busted. It's just life on the HAMB, and I've learned where the fence lines are. Stick around! You'll find the edges.

You could make a nice looking hot rod out of the beast, but if your vision is actually wanting something that looks like what you posted in #24 above, well...
Better to let the poor thing rust into the ground.

    Strange thread.

  29. Oh man. Do like I do; stay in solitary confinement where it’s safe and quiet. Don’t go out in the yard amongst the general population, it’s too dangerous out there.

I truly believed THE HAMB was a place AWAY from the AACA PURIST TYPES .

I guess if I decide to buy this 31 dodge chopped body I will update somewhere else.

really just curious what I should offer, guy wants $1000-$1200 for it.
