I love the diamond pattern on the barber chair. Would look cool in my 55 Chevy 3600!

You've learned well, your buddy is a good teacher and you are apparently a good pupil!

  14. Don't mean to offend anyone with my language, but that's so fucking awesome!!!! Beautiful work, you are a craftsman for sure. My wife wants to learn. I owned half of a shop but i only did paint work and helped with headliners and door panel stuff, stretching covers, but i never had the nerve to try sewing. I'm gonna get her the tools to learn, do you recommend any affordable machines to start out with? Damn, you do killer work ;)

  16. @HomemadeHardtop57, I really like your work - follow you here and on Instagram. I'm curious how you keep a convertible top from leaking/seeping at the exposed stitching and sewn seams.

    I envy you.

I am glad you are aware of what a gift you have been given, even if it requires work on your part to fully receive it.

The front to back top seams are double stitched which will keep the water out. A water seal piece is also made between the windshield and header bow. The top is made and assembled in a calculated order of operations which layers the material in specific ways and puts the staple lines and seams in a manner so the water flows front to back too when the car is driven. That's shit you wont find on Youtube! Good convertable fabric along with tighter spaced stitching is also important on thise seams. Wider, more visually appealing stiching is used on areas that are more for cosmetic stuff like edge binding and the double material layer near the snaps.

Hi Jerry, I got to check out your buddy’s primer A bone pickup at the Outta Time band gig yesterday. That upholstery job and bed cover look great!

Very impressive work Jerry! The stuff I saw in your shop the last time I was over is definitely top notch and pro quality. I'd love to have you wrap my lift off roof for the Vicky if I ever get it on the road.

Keep up the traditional stuff. There's dozens of shops doing the new style stuff!
