Let's see some Closed Cab Model A Pickups

  1. Great proportions and stance, delicious color. Why do I now want a bowl of chocolate chip mint ice cream all of a sudden?

    Oops! I fixed it. I am obviously not well versed in Model A pickups...

  3. that's alright, common mistake. Key is to look at the bed and tail gate of the trucks. The model A bed is the one like on the green truck. Only a small amount of very late build 31's got the newer bed that was carried over into 32.

    Here is a late 31 "wide bed"

    Narlock and Worthy's Lil Hearse [attached], Donny Narlock and Ford racer friend Dave Adams
    back halved the pickup for me around 1973.
    69 Mustang 9"rear end and suspension with adjustable lift bars, works great all these years;
    wheel stands,

    Yes, Model A pickup with Model A sedan doors. It is an option since Model T doors are not as plentiful. Not a direct bolt on. "Some assembly required" ;)

    It looks like more going on there than that! I spy what looks like the back of a sedan subframe behind the PU cab corners. This looks to me like someone started with a sedan and replaced the back of it with the PU cab back and visor. The wood looks like it may be in some part, the sedan wood, or a homespun solution to tie it together. It looks flat sided and sunk in flush with the cab corner so I don't think it is or was a truck wood top.

    The windshield goes up into the visor, which is where the header panel would be on a 28/29 ccpu cab.

    I wonder if this was, at some point, a wartime PU conversion. It looks like it's an incomplete/abandoned hot rod build of some sort. The stance up front appears lowered and I think I see a 9" out back.

    My old Model A pick up. Which I imported from the USA. Swapped it for a 46 sedan.

    It's unfortunate that Edsel couldn't convince old Henry to build a coupe-bodied truck like the one pictured above.

    IMG_20200826_094532222_HDR.jpg and here's the '29 ccpu I'm currently working on. It will have sedan doors on it until I find the right ones to replace them.
