Here's an example of the wheel Edsel supplied to Preston to build the "Tucker 48". Notice the shifter used to select gears to the Cord trans-axle... Tucker 48 Interior.jpg

Looks like Edsel gave him a Lincoln wheel with the upper part of the horn ring lopped off.

Question, the 7/16" 3 holes that mount the aftermarket 3 spoke wheels, why are some (like most Grant wheels) offset, and some are in line with the 3 spokes?

In my latest '59 Edsel, I am using a '56 Mercury steering wheel with a custom fabbed Edsel horn center. This wheel was firstly available on '56 Mercs then on Squarebirds, then used on '58 Edsels with either manual transmissions or those ordered with out the Tele-Touch transmission.

  15. This is a 36 caddy wheel. I shortened the spokes a bit and welded 'em to the footrest hoop of a bar stool. Still have some work to do on it but I like it so far. caddywheel.jpg

Here is the factory steering wheel that came on my ‘64 Comet Cyclone, originally it is wood grain plastic. For my rebuild I had my upholstery guy wrap the wheel in leather to match the other interior pieces. He also covered the dash pad in leather.

Found this on the HAMB classifieds..13-1/2” with no dish. Cleaned it up and put some light walnut stain on it.

the guy selling it only had it listed as a Series 23, or 24. Which of course not being a Packard guy meant nothing to me.
