The first attached photo shows Tony Bettenhausen with some of the Blue Crown mechanics working on the "Baby" Blue Crown. I would guess the year as 1951.

The second shot is a great action photo but I don't recognize the cars or track. Is there any additional information on this one, Rootie?

    Thanks!

Swi66, any idea where you came across this photo? Very clear and wondering if I could find out the photographer or owner for an upcoming project.

  11. The vehicle make written on the radiator is Lacre, which sounds French but is actually an English make. Lacre is short for Long Acre, the area of London (England) where the company was situated.

This one has an OH registration plate which says it was registered in Birmingham (England) somewhere between May 1920 and January of 1922.

The 2nd shot is from the American Legion Speedway Fairbury Ill. circa 1941.
The 1st pic is actually the # 99 Belanger car. Note the external T-bars and small diameter "midget" sized tubing.
