My wife peeking over the door of the 55 Chevy sedan, age 10 in 1956. Sister, age 8.

    Hello,

My wife’s family had a bunch of old Ford and GM cars. Their family was a Midwest based (OKC) with some living on the Westcoast. So, there was a lot of constant driving back and forth for jobs and visits. When they lived in Manhattan Beach,CA, they had a 55 Chevy 2 door post sedan. It had a v8, 3 speed and room for the whole family, including 3 kids. (10,8,6 a nice stair step family)

The two older sisters always played tricks on the little brother. He had no idea that they were scrunched down on the seats, until he peeked into the Chevy sedan. Then, he wanted to be inside, like “the sisters.” Those two were mean to the little guy, according to my wife. After one last trip back to OKC/Norman in 1956-57, the family settled in So Cal, near Knott’s Berry Farm. Knott’s was a ghost town, curio shops, chicken dinner restaurant, and farm back then.

And, I married into that family, for better or worse!!!

    Manhattan Beach living:
“The elementary school was walking distance and the community was a typical {beach} city. The salt air was everywhere. (Fog was a factor, too.) A 55 Chevy 2 door was purchased for the family and daily commutes to work in So Cal. The three kids easily fit in the back seat. The smallest one loved riding in the back panel tray, feeling like a boy in a bubble.”

You cant see much of the 57 Chevy wagon in the background but the paint color tells all. Me and my father in 1962. I thought that station wagon was as big as a bus!

Thanks @Stogy. Oh how I wish I could! I can count on one hand the snapshots of
The BLU BNGR, and I've posted them all at different times and places on the H.A.M.B.

Yer right...a Tudor "tubster", found in a Pa. barn in 1960 for $75. Three years later, we left Takoma Park, Md. for Long Beach in it...didn't make it, but what a TRIP!

    Here's a "1st fill-up" shot you've seen elsewhere. Art
