    I've had this 8x10 picture of Elby's Willys coupe at Fremont for decades.
    Then somebody else sent me another shot of it, anybody recognize the car?

    It may well be. Here is a short video of the restored car and a lot of features (wheels, rear fender lips etc match).

    That's it Roo.
    Dave Lamb from NJ owns it and I believe it's currently for sale.
    Guess you already know it was Bill Linder's car from Rochester NY,
    looks like it did in 1967 all over again,

    I guess some of you here knew [the late] Byron Stack from Gas F/X.
    Born the same year as I, he sadly passed away in 2012.
    He came to visit me in 2008, a big fella, I even got to squeeze him into my little pickup.
    He won't soon be forgotten,

    willysy,shoebox,trucks 005.jpg willysy,shoebox,trucks 001.jpg willysy,shoebox,trucks 002.jpg [ The car was changed so many time over the years been a street rod. been about 5 different paint jobs the floor has been redone twice.diffrent chassis. but its going back the same . change fire wall again. putting a steel 40 nose back on and its going back the way it was done in 50's red with white lettering

    Drove to Clayton, went to Canesa's Deli for lunch then over to our friend Al's place.
    He's got some really nice Fords.
    No problems with the car, another good day,

    and I don't even recognize his name nor the track, anybody?

  22. Got to meet Byron a few time...loved his site, and yes he is missed!!! Thanks to him I have a shot of my daily driver
    going down the quarter mile at Thompson years ago...have another picture of this from the stands that show Byron taking this shot (will look for it) g-willys whitewillys2 (4).jpg
