I like the sound of guarded toggle switches, that could look cool

Agreed!! It sounds nice to say I own a 32 ford coupe inspired by Aviation and Corvette!! How's the trans problem doing? More important how are you holding up with your daughters big day coming soon?

What’s everybody using for front turn signal lights on a fender less highboy like mine? Not the ones with lights inside the headlight!

Trans is all sorted now thanks, the good thing about having to get your car sorted for your daughters wedding is that my wife keeps saying “why aren’t you out in the garage working on your car” :D

Enjoy her pushing you out to the garage, it won't last forever!!! I finally ordered some parts for my coupe, we plan on getting it from storage to my new house next week, trying to flat tow it for the first time, then let the fun begin. We have agreed I need to get the parking brake working since we have a steep driveway, that's the only brakes on the car, since there's a 60' tree just across the street.

This Roadster uses Speedway fog lamps as indicators, you may want to fit lower wattage lamps though

Not bad, but kinda big! I think I would like something that's not so "up in my grille" so to speak! I was looking at beehive marker lights. I think I put some on my Schwinn when I was 14 years old, they were powered by a tiny generator that flipped against the tire to spin. Made an annoying noise!! The search continues!! Many thanks!

Check E-Bay, I found some very small sorta bullet shaped cycle lights, semi gloss black with a black tinted lens that I put along the outside frame horns on my 32 5 window. My car is FF so you don't see the lights until they light up, they are amber and bright. Not for everyone but they worked for me.

PERFECT! It's gonna be a car you'll be rightfully proud to own and drive...but yes, enjoy the build, that's priceless! B)

Very cool, love the turn indicator lights!! Do they mount to the headlight housing? I see you are from Irwin Pa, I was born and raised in Reading, Pa, loved bracket racing at Maple Grove and cruisin Penn Street in the 70's with my El Camino!!! Miss those days! image00000620.jpeg

  17. Mine are in the headlight reflector, but you can't see the Amber when they are off. I bought an Amber automotive bulb that has a silver coating, like a state troopers sun glasses. Glows Amber when on.

If and when I get the coupe finished I would like to take a road trip back home and tool around all the old places, maybe make a pass or two at Maple Grove just for old times sake! Not sure I will like what I find, but it's on my bucket list, along with running at Bonneville!

Love the El Camino, cool coup hd1084!
I decided I wasn’t happy with the first attempt at the switch panel as the fit wasn’t good enough and the machining inconsistent so I redidit. Now finished and all switches mocked in place. I’m much happier with the second attempt, just need to wire the switches in. Next job to connect up the new gauges.

It’s in June, fortunately just enough time to complete all the jobs I’m doing, then in to the trim shop for the interior beginning of April which should take about 3-4 weeks, then complete going through to clean and polish top to bottom, prepare speach, suit fitting, etc. Will keep you posted. I finished rewiring the new switches yesterday and on to the gauges today.
I also picked up my next project yesterday for when the coup is finished (are they ever finished!), planning on fixing this up for my grandson

Yes, it’s been stretched to fit on to a modified mobility scooter chassis

  30. I'll be following this J40 build. I have an original J40 that was stretched by the original owner to fit his kids as they grew, and he gutted the inside to install a 12v motor and battery, and I've got a mobility scooter chassis too. You've got my interest! IMG_5947-2.jpg
