I very much agree with your plan. There are plenty of roads here in the west where that thing would be a lot of fun to drive.

Do you guys know if the majority of a 1933 5 window wood kit would fit my 33 4 door 7 window car? I know obviously I’d be short the rear doors pieces but wondering if the rest of the kit would fit for the most part.

Wow, what a great body, I'm onboard. This is a 35 Standard frame, 35 Master is different with 'K' rather than 'X' member. 34 Standard has parallel ladder frame with no 'X' member. 35 Chevy frame~2.jpeg

  11. Nice find RoarsRods. I'll be doing some referring back to that one a few more times for sure. Thanks.

  12. The cowl and possibly the front doors the wood will fit , pretty sure the 5 window coupe and 4 dr share the front doors . Main sills in the floor should be the same or at least very similar .
But that is about it .

I just bought a 34 Master coupe with pretty decent metal front fenders and nice fiberglass rear fenders. I'm not going to be running any fenders at all. I'd trade it all for a usable 34 master grill surround.

Keep watching ebay , sooner or later they show up, 1934 CHEVROLET MASTER ONLY. Expect to pay $200---500 and up for a nice one just needing replating only. the master outsold the standard 7---1 so you have a good chance of finding one.

  16. I dont think you will find a grille for 2 to 500.00 bucks these days , I have watched the chrome suround go for almost that much ,
500 and up Im sure !!!

  17. Flatmotor, I measured front to rear outside edges at centerline at 23 1/8" and

Top outside edge to bottom flat part of window channel at centerline at 14 7/8"

    Hope that helps.

Can I join your splinter group too?

I own a 34 Master project car that needs heaps of loving. Have a mate (previous owner of the car) whose way clever and will sort my mechanical, engineering, panelwork and auto electrics. My job really is to figure what I want at the end, pass on the plan, buy the parts and fund everything.

    1. Guards are pretty stuffed, so I figured I would get the chassis sitting low and run it fenderless, as Im not a fan of fenderless with a huge gap between bottom chassis rail and the road
    2. Have 9 doors but only a few hinges so figured it could evolve into a two door sedan
    3. Decided a rear door is necessary on a sedan delivery so one got cut out last week. Looks good too
    4. Decided that a fenderless hot rod needs a Henry V8 axle setup, rather than a 34 Chev IFS
    5. Used a 32 front cross member and split wishbones
    6. Got some 15*5 Halibrand copies for the front and 15*10 copies for the rear. BFG 285/75/15s are just under 31 tall so I can have a hot rod rake on it. 20180709_160634 (1).jpg 20180704_211637.jpg

So theres the start point and theres the HAMB photoshop version of how the finished car should sit. .

Just saw a post in the VCCA CHAT that was posted by an employee of LEBARON BONNEY, that they have gone out of business owing a lot of unfilled but paid for orders.

Looks like a really cool build. The photoshop version looks great.

Although it was innovative for 1934, the 1934 IFS is rather primitive. The original Knee-Action IFS on my 34 Master was replaced with a axle and springs from a 50 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup.

So let us understand what you want to do to your 1934 Chevrolet master 4 door sedan. You want to convert a 4 door to a 2 door sedan somehow. You also want to open up the rear panel and convert that to a sedan delivery door. Dumpster the fenders and running boards and go high boy.
INTERESTING AND FANTASTIC UNDERTAKING. Theres a TV show on DISCOVERY channel called Bad Chad Customs. You might get some inspiration from his shows. Hope you won the NZ lottery.

  24. Flatmotor, my extreme apologies!!! The last thing I want to do is provide disinformation. I've got a couple cars apart in the garage and some non-labeled glass was nearest the '35 Chevy 2dr and I just assumed it was the '35 glass. I do have the original '35 glass, although I apparently will have to go through some stuff and identify it, shud you still need those dimensions.

Bowtie made another pattern and the glass they cut seems to be 5/16 short frt to rear to stay in the channel felt.Sent the new pattern back to Vintage yesterday and they will check there measurment with my pattern The quarter glass on my car is 31 1/8-1/4 but the glass I got was 30 7/8.It is a 2dr sedan Standard. Thanks for help but if you have that glass what is the size.

Gassertodd Just had seen a 1935 Chevrolet Sedan HotRod on Ebay listed to somewhat very similar to your new build! Rory Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1935-Sedan-HotRod/113695376063?hash=item1a78c5c2bf:g:9CoAAOSwtpFclecv s-l16004444.jpg

Flatmotor40 just a thought you can make your new glass pattern out of cardboard to fit perfectly and then transfer it over to the new glass piece! That is how I did it with all of my glass on my 36 Ford 3 window coupe! Rory
