1968 was when the six pak on 440's was being developed by Edelbrock. These set ups were sold on B-Bodies in 1969. AKA 1969 1/2 Cars.... I say run them, enjoy them, and don't let some crazy $$$ ideas get to your head. Chromed carbs look awesome, and they are no good sitting in a museum collecting dust. They just showed 3 of the 4 "Rapid Transit" Mopar show cars in Hemmings muscle car mag. They were 1970 models & the seat belt guy 'Juliano' had owned them before he passed - maybe the carbs are off of one of them - OT I know......
Plus look at the float adjustment screw and lock nut....well used. These are 4144-1 carbs, not the original 4144-A or 4144-1A As mentioned above, hex float bowl screws were not original. Run them like you stole them.....
Ok, first of all, thank you all for your input. I appreciate it fellas. According to Randy Holden @ Mopar Collector Magazine, he seems to think these are one of three sets ever made, all at the same time. He is trying to put me in touch with Tim Wellborn as he has shown interest in these according to the curator of the Wellborn Muscle Car Museum. I have sent them both photos and list numbers so will see what comes up. Wish me luck!!
