    Hello,

The black and white photo was shot during the same day as a color photo of our 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery in front of my mom’s house in Long Beach. (OVER 50 YEARS AGO…) The black and white photos took a back seat in our files as color was what we live by and those days were colorful enough, to say the least.

In those early darkroom days, the hand moving over certain parts during the development of the B/W prints made a different look. But, the photo itself had to be crystal clear for a clear image. So, it was the responsibility to get several “in-focus” shot within the first 35 shots. Also within those, experiments with double exposure shots using the reverse crank played a big part of experimenting.

Now, with the advent of many different photo applications for the computer, one can create a whole different ball game for any photo, let alone one from over 50 years ago. To me, it is fun on these programs due to the fact that dust motes can be taken out of a great shot, but added in during processing or developing. The digital format has its plusses. Not only is it fun to experiment, but in so doing, it brings back memories of those care free days of Levis, T-shirts, desert boots and sometimes, colorful Madras Shirts.

These days, it is changed up a little, t-shirts, shorts, and sandals make up the daily attire. Those old Madras shirts are being saved for our granddaughter’s “Flashback to the 50s and 60s” theme, dress up at school.

Episode 15 was the 15th save in the computer designs from several different programs. Any one program can bring results that most people like, but using several different programs adds to the odd final design. Episode 19 was an addition of a 4th different computer photo program.

Recent B/W photos from old 50+ year old photos, just updated or altered. It is still the same frozen 1940’s hot rod, but in a new set of modern clothes.

    “The Emperor Has New Clothes…”

“The label given to any fictional item that viewers have been induced into believing as real.”
“It is used in contexts where people are widely acclaimed and admired but where others question whether what they have created is of any value. Modern-day examples might be the highly priced work of conceptual artists or the more avant-guard products of designers.”

I have a lot of monochrome car images. I love them too. Thanks Danny (@HOTRODPRIMER ) for starting this thread.
