Have you considered a Jaguar independent rear suspension? May be easier to find in Europe.

  7. Glad it´s coming forwards. Should go like hell, with the 454.

The GM axle was already combined with a similar engine... maybe I'll use this...

I prefer 9"...also for the bolt pattern Ford, the same in front and wheels....
In my country is hard to find parts .... also Jaguar not easy....

I use the 454... but only to move....

Has this project seen any more progress. I just got a 49 Kaiser Vagabond and I'd like to do similar mods to it.

  13. This is cool. My brother owned that exact, duplicate car about 15 years ago. 1949 Kaiser special 4 door sedan, same maroon paintjob also. Did some amateur restoration on it then traded it off even for a 1971 Jeep cj5. Had a Continental straight six if I remember right? Always thought it would've made a cool Kustom taildragger, wish he wouldn't of traded it...had the same rotted out rocker panels too, rest of the car was solid!.

  14. The Vagabonds were cool! really rare. Seen one in a salvage yard about 20 years ago.

Yes, it's right, the original was a Continental straight six...
I hope to build a kustom....

The 49 Kaiser Vagabond is very similar...

I still work there, but I had various problems and changes in my life, job and health and other projects.
I have little free time to kaiser work but I still went ahead, I want to finish, I'm at a good point, now I need finish tank and steering column, after disassembling, rebuilding and painting.
