I enjoyed the video. Shows that with a little patience, passion for what you like and the right tools anything is possible
Thank you for sharing something a little different

I liked that. I still have all my old Hot Wheels. I have 8 of the first 16. None are mint, but they aren't nearly as beat up as the one in the vid. I'm a little torn. They're not worth enough to retire, but worth to much to let my grandsons step on them. I still have all my old G I Joe's too. And my Johnny Express truck.

Like all 'real' hot rods, they need to be taken out and put thru the wringer! Die-cast Drag Race!!!

Pretty cool. How long is the track? What do you have for finish line and to catch the cars?

I knew a guy who used to restore Hot Wheels like that, he even customized them with tiny flames and stuff. one day I showed him my originals that I still have and he acted like a kid at Christmas hoping he could buy them cheap from me.

I think there are track specs online for 'real' organized drags. The finish line utilized a real Hot Wheels checkered flag mechanism and some padded boxes to catch the cars. This was few years back, but we held them regularly at one of the dive pubs in town... it's a riot!!

Interesting that the restorer wore gloves when taking the car apart but not when painting...
