Do you know if the "newer" looking one with a wild paint job is the same one or a tribute?

no i don't know about a new one. moved away and lost track of roger. he did build a '23 t and gave the fiat to his wife to drive. he was a partner in a rubbish business and had a container down in Mexico and it would be full of motors, mostly sbc. he blew up his race motor at OC once. went home and pulled one of the junkers out of the pile, swapped his cam and race heads onto it, ran it and won bracket one that weekend. only lasted a couple runs and blew it too, but it went the fastest the fiat every ran.

The Mike Soskin owned Bantam that was driven by Bones Balogh before he ran his own Corvette under the J & J banner.

Hey loudbang...I thought I read somewhere that this was an "Altered" thread, not an "Gas" thread.
    Both good in my book..!

The wide stance on the rear axle makes that Fiat look a little "goofy", even in an historical basis. I prefer the look of the one in post 2233.

As noted several times earlier in this thread this is John Taylor at Castlereagh Dragway just west of Sydney, Australia. I know that for a fact because I took that photo.

Ahh, the J&J Bantam, one of my favorite old race cars. J&J Muffler was right on the main drag in Inglewood. Right across the street from Inglewood Tire Company, home of Inglewood slicks. It was always fun to drive by that area and see what racers were parked around there. The Foster Freeze right around the corner was a big Friday/Saturday night hangout place for all of us.

    WOW...that's an ALTERED alright.
Take a look at the frame in front, heavily pinched in. Along with the other interesting, go fast tricks.
Though the roll bar support has merit.

For those who may be interested in knowing...
The proper spelling of Willie Borsch is...

    Willie mail.jpg

    The spelling is/was not...Willy.
I've got a better picture somewhere, just can't find it...
