History Austrailia visit

My daughter has been in Australia for the past year and I’m heading there next month (April) to visit and then we’re coming back home together. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any hot rod shops that I could stop in while I’m there? We’ll be in Sydney and up the north coast as well.
Just thought I’d check since my daughter knows I’m a gear head and asked if there were any “car places” I wanted to visit! Thanks!

No... But I know a cool beach you could hang out at..... Port Kembla beach which is about??? 50 miles south of Sydney.... Used to be my old stomping grounds when I was a kid.... Till we moved to the States...

 

There's a massive car seen in Aus, try https://www.asrf.org.au/, theres an events page and club page, find a club in the area you're going. I did this about 20 years ago when I went to Adelaide, had a great time with a bunch of local hot rodders that couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming.

 

If you are going to be on the north coast on the weekend of 10/11/12 May our local Mid North Coast Hot Rod Club is hosting it's annual Lazy Winterun at Coffs Harbour. As the name suggests it's very laid back but a lot of fun with about 60 good quality Aussie hot rods. Coffs is 600 kilometers north of Sydney and there is plenty of accommodation in town.

Australian Street Rod Nationals April 19--22 in Maryborough, Queensland.
maybe a little too far north but if you can score cheap flights from Sydney to Brisbane thens it only a few hours by car.

May not be much help to you. We have the Castlemaine Swap and Castlemaine Rod Run in April along with a few Shops you can visit. That is if you are coming south. Whatever you do have a great trip.
