Not Mopar. I don't think I have seen anything quite like it. If I had to guess I would say Studebaker 1952 or newer but I really don't know. Later... not a fifties Studebaker, Packard, Nash. Willys or Hudson. Not Mopar. If it was Ford or GM I would expect a positive ID by now. The sway bar made me think it was postwar but now I think of it, a few cars had them in the late 30s. If I felt like further searching I would concentrate on late 30s - 40s.
From old Chiltons shop and parts manual the only upper control arm that looks like that is 1942-47 Hudson. Book only covers 42-55.
I think we have a winner? 1947 Hudson http://hudsonterraplane.com/tech/1946/1946-1947GroupPartsBook.pdf http://hudsonterraplane.com/tech/1946/1946MechanicalInfoAndServiceSpecs.pdf
Awesome! Thanks for the help (those links are awesome too)! I think I will make it into a display/example piece for the classroom...
Late 40's early 50's Studebaker had a planner front suspension with a transverse spring also serving as the lower locating links eliminating the lower A arms. Jeepster had a similar set up.
