You guys talk like a hole saw cuts exactly to size marked; I have never found one that does, always over by some I generally just finish up with a file or a scrapper..I have been known to squeeze a saw in a vise to make oval shapped which will cut a larger hole in thin material.

Exactly. That’s why I’m going with a nominal 2” hole. Don’t mind hand finishing the cut, so it doesn’t go too big.

  5. Yes, lots of oil, and my drill press speed is too fast, also, which is just another reason I've got a dull 2-1/16" saw now. I like the shallowness of that carbide version. Post updates when you complete your hole punching.

Continue preparing my 32 for the 425 Buick.
Cut off most of an old motor mount, sliced the firewall for recessing engine, and repaired the transmission vacuum line I accidentally damaged during the first test fit. IMG_4221.JPG IMG_4222.JPG IMG_4223.JPG

Painting interior parts for the 37 Chevy p/u.

  12. We have a 450 ft deep well. with a submersible pump. and it wasn't building but 20 psi. So I knew there was a leak in the stand pipe. So today my wife Debbie and I. fixed the leak. We hooked the electric winch on my wrecker to the well pipe. and I had placed a large rear tractor rim next to the well casing. Debbie operated the winch and I made certain the head pipe didn't kink or catch on anything. There was more well pipe than winch cable. So we leap frogged it until we found the split about halfway down. Cut out the bad part and recoupled it back together. And we just in the last hour got it all back together and its working as its supposed to. I hate working on the pump. But I hate paying other folks more. My wife stated your almost 70 pretty soon you might not be able to do this kinda stuff . I didn't say anything .

Dug my Expedition out of three foot of snow and got it to the street after letting it run for an hour to get the half inch of ice off it so I can take my seven year old grandson to school tomorrow. New snow piled up another 2 feet on my south side of the property last night and filled all the walkways level, I'm to old to be walking through 3 to 4 feet of snow.
I finally got the truck out on the street and the boy came out and we went for a drive to see all the snow. About this time I get a call telling me there's no school tomorrow.....oh well

I'm the odd ball. When the car work gets tedious I like to build something else for a diversion. Last year I restored this Mitsubishi Scooter and this year I'm building a locomotive switcher engine and work caboose. Keeps my creative juices going. At 80 I need all the boost I can get thumbnail_20171110_142035.jpg thumbnail_20171110_142035.jpg thumbnail_20180818_130559.jpg thumbnail_20171110_142035.jpg thumbnail_20180818_130559.jpg thumbnail_20181226_105849.jpg thumbnail_20171110_142035.jpg thumbnail_20180818_130559.jpg thumbnail_20181226_105849.jpg

    Shop around.

Just a quick search on-line turned up prices ranging from $190 (not a typo) to $22 for that saw. I have the $22 one on order now (Amazon).

24325C21-3F47-4389-97E9-9CBA269F3F9C.jpeg Plowed snow. Finally made it out to the road. Most snow in central Oregon in Feb. in 118 years. Lucky me.

Needed an overflow tank for my 31 Ford flattie roadster so I grabbed this can from the recycle bin. Bead blasted the silk screened stuff off the outside of it then buffed it up a bit and took a shot at a little free hand engine turning. I think it came out ok for what I need it to do.

Spent the last couple days raising the deck 1 1/2" on the trailer I haul the hot rod on. I was sick of not being able to open the door after loading the Stude. Bought the studebaker script 4 or 5 yrs ago at the Lonestar Roundup, then promptly misplaced it. Found it the other night, went straight to the garage and put it on the tail board like I intended 5 yrs ago. IMG_20190224_120503776_HDR.jpg IMG_20190224_103520287_HDR.jpg

Put a little dye on the seat. Matches the car so much better now. Well I think so. 20190227_142750.jpg 20190227_155253.jpg 20190227_162126.jpg 20190227_162134.jpg

  29. DSCN1250.JPG I waited for the delivery of my Panel Truck. Yes, I know the wheels and tires don't belong on this forum. I'm gon'na fix that.
No registration or plates yet but I'm gated so my streets are privately owned and I can drive it around and harass the neighbors. As expected, I have a lot of little things to tweak and fix more better
