nice pickup. i learned to drive in my Dad's 1941 ford 2 1/2 ton straight truck. loved that granny low!!

Here are some pictures from a few years ago. The first one is of some trucks that I sold and delivered from Texas to the L.A., California area in 1988. A friend and I took a couple of weeks off work, put a sb Chevy in the 46 and took of on that adventure. The second one was taken in Blythe , California about a year later when we went to retrieve a 33BB that we found on the first trip, and brought it back to Texas. The third picture is of my 33BB that I still have and a 32BB (green) that went to live in England about 15 years ago. For years I took pictures of old trucks in many places; derelicts, originals, restored, hot rods, etc. I have at least 100 but it would take hours to scan and up load them. Fun to look at though!
You aren't going to find many actual pre war hot rod trucks that were modified before WWII Trucks were for work and hauling then.
True. I found this one a year ago and it was modified for some kind of lifting point on the passenger bed side - definitely for work purposes. The good news is that it was also modified with a later Mercury 8CM.

My 33 Ford Pickup, been a hot rod most of its life Then this 34 Pickup was a project started then sold. Was an old tow rig/push truck for race team with a front engine rail. Had a Nailhead or Hemi in it at one point, when we got it had a 56 Corvette 265.
Around here, any pre war truck that survived is rare. Most got used on farms, then got used up in the woods. Parts were taken as needed, then years later the scrappers got the carcass. There were a few used in towns by stores as delivery vehicles that led sheltered lives, but as they grew older even they were replaced by newer models. Every once in a while one turns up that was saved in some old building or barn.
