Thanx Mick, Sacramento used to be known in past years for all the kustoms that showed, it's not that way any longer...it's becoming simply a car show...Most of the "kustoms" were in the "Suede Palace" portion of the show...and that's where I shot most of the pix...

Marcus Edell posted this on FB. To Kool not to share it..... CHP bust 1962. You can see the Jim Russell roadster I own in the first pic. Rod Powell is next to it with his back to the camera. Rod writes- "These pictures were taken summer of 1962. Our car club the “VIOLATERS” of Salinas was on the way to Bolado Park south of Hollister. We were almost there when the Highway Patrol had a roadblock waiting for us. It was a classic bust. The cop car was sideways across the road to stop us. We spent about an hour there while they wrote everybody up on fix it tickets. Jim Russell was in his 29 roadster and I was in my chopped 51 Merc. Jim & I got the most citations"

Most of us are more familiar with Rod Powell's Merc when it looked like this.
