It does feel good. It was nice yesterday to put clean parts back together. It was kinda awesome that the parts and pieces all kind of fell together without much struggle.

Goal this week is to get the 9 inch together. I also have new disc brake kit and another set of steering arms coming in.... hope to have it as a roller soon.

Couple cans of oven cleaner and a pressure washer got rid of most of the bad nasty stuff. I'll knock the rest off with a wire wheel. Should be ready for paint this week.

Two coats of primer and two cans of black. Once it dries I'll slide it all back together with the parts from the other day.

Got my front spring cleaned up and painted today. Took a grinder to the hard edges on the leaves so it will slide just a little better.

Got out to Tracys and got the front end bolted back in. Also got the 9 inch set in place and ready to bolt down tomorrow.
    Almost a roller again.

Slow but steady, keep chugging along.

Decreased and pressure washed the steering box. I'll spend the next day or so rebuilding the box and replacing the bearings.

Box pulled apart to this spot pretty easy. I bought the Tardel book on Ford steering boxes but haven't really seen what I was looking for. I'll go back and study it some more and then just jump in head first.

Once this is done we can stab the engine again and start mocking up exhaust before body goes back on.

I bought the same book but thought it was pretty weak on content. It mainly focused on rebuilding the F100 box.

Cleaned these up over the last week. Hopefully fit them this week and start on the disc brakes. That grease was not messing around. I think it was mixed with cement and JB Weld.

Just getting caught up on this project!

    Looks great so far Drugasm!!!

I'll be starting on my '47 sedan real soon.
Not going as far as you Drugasm! Keeping the banjo rear and transverse spring, 3 on the tree and the original 226 stright flathead 6 with a few tricks a buddy of mine and I are gonna try!
Doing a few suspension updates to lower it several inches. Trying not to split the wishbones, but I also want to run a narrower front axle.

My '47 is a 43,xxx original miles car with the original interior and one repaint done back in the early '70's!

    Please give us an update!

    Chano64,
When your 47 was new the 6 cylinder would out run a V8 after they aged the V8 was faster.
I had one in my 46 Tudor Super Delux and really enjoyed it. Frank

Oh snap! The old girl is getting some love from the HAMB. I thought everyone was tired of this old heap.

Let me think where to begin the update.....
The body is still off but most of the heavy suspension stuff is hung. Tranny went out to be inspected and came back with a full rebuild and a shift kit. I just ordered up my Blueprint crate engine and that should be in by the end of the week. Got my spider caps at the Turlock Swap meet.

What I need to do is get out to the shop and get some brake lines and fuel lines in while Tracy finishes the exhaust. We have both been busy on other projects and the 46 has been dust collecting.

Sometimes it just seems like there is 1 damn rusty bolt or part that stalls out a whole project and everything grinds to a halt and gets log jammed. Tracy wants the bumper brackets to finish the exhaust, I have them off the car but i was going to powder coat them while they are off. There's 1 damn bolt I need to cut off and I just haven't found the time to do it. Lazy or bored or whatever it is .... now that the engine is on it's way I will make myself do it and get this thing rolling along again.

I've been having fun still with my Beetle though. So I'm totally put of the loop. I still smell like gas and have busted knuckles.

Sharp eyed forum members may recognize that hoist.

Tracy set up a car at the Sacramento Autorama like a scene frozen in time. Old parts and old tools scattered on the ground and a flatty hanging from the hoist.

Hey... I was 12 when I started rebuilding my first car! A 1956 Mercury Montclair.
Dad and I put a 351 Cleveland with a c4 trans. Had lots of fun in high school with it.

Here's a few of my helpers the day we put the front brakes on. She wanted to wear gloves. You can see the boy child in the background on one of the pics,..... probably eating spiders out of the junk pile.
