Oh that dreaded stage so many talk about...prepping "The Louvers"...however it looks as if you're signature louvers have some spacing that may make finishing a wee bit less tedious? I was wondering what guidecoat is so I looked it up...Helps identify imperfections in surface...so the there is an additional coat of the lighter primer after you guide prime or are both compatible with final paint?

Thanks again for sharing this detailed adventure with us...

The "guide coat" can either be quick dusting of another color of primer on top or you can use a product that is more like a powder, wiped on with an applicator. We are using a guide coat made by 3m which wipes on

The guide helps identify low spots, but also lets you know where you have sanded and where you have not. The entire surface is sanded down several times with progressively finer sand paper each time...with guide coat put on before sanding begins each time.

The spacing on my louvers does allow for a bit more sanding area between louvers, but not much. Screenshot_20190217-192301_Chrome.jpeg

Got the engine painted tonight. Going to let it sit for a couple days and then it's time to put the top end together. IMG_20190225_212629_519.jpeg
