  1. They called 4 seater... Like a Tudor Ford... Maybe the seats reclined...

    Lou Bingham Coupe - B&W pic 2.jpg

Fendermount Spares never looked So Good...Bobbed back Fenders and even a wee trim on the fronts...oh and the front bumper and subtle use of chrome just pulls it all together...

    Lou Bingham Coupe

Hamber @jamesd1502 just started a thread on Lou whom he was helping wrench on a few things the other day...spurring me to go snooping for material...;)

These are just a couple of the very unusual captures from the Heyday of the Go fast Period and the Photographer had a knack for highlighting the unusual in the period of pushing mechanicals to amazing limits...in a three thread series by @Jive-Bomber on Bert Bloomquist...well worth a visit to glean from some great moments from the vintage Hotrod age we like to revere...

Part 3 of the series is below with the Links for the other 2 parts in the first post by Jive...below...;)

Funny me I thought the Tires were painted 2-tone but second look it might be tire protection...

Wow that was awile ago, ‘09 haha. I was 17 piecing it togeather. Was a fun car and coolest car in high school but was definitely my learning curve car and was a little embarrassed by some of it as my skills progressed and rebuilt it into this. Driven it to Vegas for viva 4 times and all over SoCal since. Then just recently replaced the body with a roadster for more leg room. So it’s my ever evolving car I’ve built when 17.

This is it with the ‘31 roadster body, old hot rod body from Oregon with a ‘39 windshield leaded in like a poor boys duvall.

I am going to go out on a limb and say I posted that body fairly recently that was part of a collection posted by a Hamber that was helping sell a lot of bodies and parts for someone that I believe passed.

Thanks for chiming in and that was a cool pickup jalopy you had there but you have replaced it with something equally interesting...

I certainly was wondering about the story with that unique look...I did find a historical pic with a very similar modded A but it was not it...

I think it's really cool to see Hambers getting in on interesting sales that are posted here just to share and help connect dots.

@trad27...Re Post #2751. Below is my a second of two posts about that body to compare to the vintage pic I found snooping...what IS interesting however is these were not one offs others albeit perhaps not many did similar mods.

The other observation is all 3 have unusual windshield mods...

   ...Interesting mix here
Now there was a A Roadster with modded windshield posted back some time ago that had a similar windshield treatment to the far right 29

    Such a cool pic...

    Found it...nope it's a 30/31

That is a cool pic thanks for posting, Yeah good eye, it is one of the bodies out of Oregon from a HAMBer’s family member passing. When I first seen the body with the windshield and fell in love with it and wanted to buy it before someone else did and just cut it off to put stock like the other million A’s everywhere, I wanted to preserve the uniqueness of it. Any one know about what era this mod was popular? Or usually done?

I will find the link to that thread or perhaps others may remember...there was some really premium Hotrod material in that estate.

That vintage pic validates this was a form of mod executed...I am suspecting many where Coupes...but I like the slightly differents and that is what @onekoolkat1950 had in mind when he started this fantastic thread.

  28. That vintage photo was taken behind George Barris' Compton Ave. shop.
That's George standing by the highboy roadster's windshield post.
