    Thanks, Billy, enjoyed your visit...

Thanks, Kisam, tried to meet you at the Revolution, but couldn't get close with the crowd around you all day. Tuffy is really cool!

Congratulations Randy on your recent acquisition. Sure looks like the car went to the right guy! The photo on speed tuning is one of my all time favorites. The 1956 plate starting with the letter "G", I could be wrong, but I think that it might have been registered in Tulare County or thereabouts. Anyway, good luck and thanks for the post.

Randy, when I saw the plate with GNR... I immediately thought of the Grand Nat'l Roadster show.

Actually, I had followed this car thru magazine articles, and when I went down to visit Tom McMullen in the '70s, he was talking about it.

Amazing how this turned out. Glad you found it.

Unfortunately, not much new to report, gathering the stuff I need to do the resto, including funds, taking some time!

I did have the good fortune to meet Jorge at the LARS and got to talk to him about this car and his McMullen car and the album cover the two cars appeared together on. We talked about possibly getting the two cars together sometime in the future at a show, so I'm bummed that he's selling it. He's a super nice guy, by the way.

    Will do, thanks!

Yeah, I thought of that too. That's cool info, thanks for sharing it. I'm glad I was able to get it and am looking forward to restoring it to the magazine cover configuration.

Congrats with your score. Great story and best of luck with the rebuild. I have a couple of those old magazines and always liked that car .

This car went on to be fellow LARM's Duane Kofoed's Yellow Zonker, Not much changed on it cept maybe the color and the lack of fenders. Duane still has the car and even though he doesn't feel all that hot these days, the car gets out still. It's one of my favorite highboys. Duane retired the Dick Flint car intending to do a whole new chassis when this car became available and in his hands it was never put back together until being sold to Don Orosco who did the ultra restoration.

Randy P. You are a very fortunate individual to have acquired such a kool deuce! Another LARM had a very kool 34 slightly channeled green roadster. His name is Wayne Bausman.
He sold the rdstr years ago, but it too had the look of Ian's 32 and was in the club the same time.

Wow! I have been looking at the above pic for about 3 decades, just found this thread, saw the B&W pics on the "1950s period correct hot rods" thread, and thought "jeez, is that the green deuce that was of the cover of Speed Tuning & trouble Shooting?" Followed the link, and HOLY CRAP, there it is! I have wondered dozens of times over the years whatever happened to this car. AMAZING what you find on the HAMB!

I'd say the color of your roadster is similar to '57 Plymouth code E, aka Meadow Green. A computer color match will probably get you closer to any reformulation of a color that was probably mixed up at a paint store. Just thought you might want the info.

That is probably the most perfect street roadster of all time, WOW. Definitely looking forward to more updates.

I know but would prefer the owner to make it known if he wants it known. Not mine for sure but still in Texas.

Just wondering if the car progressed or if it’s still in pieces? Can you share that much?

It is in excellent hands. I don’t know about it’s condition.
