Projects "I'm here to pick up the rubbish"

  1. Don't turf the 1968 2 cent piece- they didn't mint many 1's or 2's in that year. Otherwise they make a dandy radiator hole solder patch!

Quick mock up of the dash today! I'm liking it so far. I think the studebaker gauges are going to be too much for what I'm after and I'll hunt down some alternative gauges. 20190112_153706.jpg

Hopefully, someone will be able to identify it, just to satisfy our curiosity!

It would make a great project! There were some 5w panels for sale a while back that would get this close to a complete coupe body. I'll have to see what else I can drag out of the scrub.... 20190119_142705.jpg

Your tin hunts remind me of the Midwest in the 70s and 80s. Dad and I were always hauling cars and parts home. Great fun!! The roadster is looking great!!

I had so much fun on my latest tin hunt! I'd say my best one yet!! I found a 1928-31 deck lid on my last day of hunting! It'll go well with the improved A on my shed wall! It had really rough fenders with it, a tub, and I basically filled the back of my ute with junk! Sold the 34 coupe ute to a good home as well! 20190124_154101.jpg 20190124_154020.jpg

  13. I have a feeling there is a property developer up your way wondering why the old rubbish tip is not filling up as expected. It,s actually becoming a hole again . He want,s to get that golfcourse done .

Saved a bit, some went to a bloke for yard art and I found a few things I can use for once. The deck lid has the handle, latch, hinges and stay still attached! Plenty of work to get it right, but they're hard to get over here! Also found a pair of exhaust manifolds and dizzy bits, willys door and a few oil pumps among many other off topic items. 20190124_160905.jpg 20190119_062019.jpg 20190124_192136.jpg

That’s a nice find, the two I have are junk, so I will have to fabricate one which is a real pain.

Rebuilding the gearbox at the moment. Once this is done I'll button up my motor and paint it. Then onto the rear end. Feels like I'm making some progress! 20190206_124537.jpg 20190206_124548.jpg

I also purchased a cheap 35 with some of the 34 funds, plan is to on sell it to fund stuff for the roadster. IMG_3228.jpg received_803456293338195-1.jpg It came with a 39 flatty in it, and is pretty complete except the driver side door.

Some more progress, I have to trim the motor mounts off the new water pumps to run the 32 motor mounts. Paint soon! 20190207_180158.jpg 20190207_180150.jpg 20190207_180212.jpg

Yeah the plates came on my first car that I bought off my dad (HJ holden with a 253)! I had plans to sell them to fund some hot rod parts. Listed them but I failed to research the plate ownership rules properly and someone registered the plate numbers and I lost the rights to the numbers. So they're a shed hanger... I was pretty sour about it!

Funny it's worked out the engine, gauges and running gear are all 37 ford. Even the gear stick knob was a swap meet 37 ford score. Picked them all up 100's of kilometers apart though... like a 1930's junk yard upgrade. 20190211_184928.jpg 20190211_190223.jpg
