Projects Amazing Vintage Scrap Yard in Arkansas

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Nicholas Coe, Feb 14, 2019.

  1. Teaser pics! Here's a wonderful yard. Cars from the late 1930s til a few years ago. The man who ran the yard passed away and the son wants to sell everything. Parts or whole cars. I will be posting many pictures in the next few days. It is located in North West corner of Arkansas, near Springdale. Nick IMG_20190214_174530.jpeg IMG_20190214_174450.jpeg IMG_20190214_174508.jpeg

  5. Probably the best option would be to have a auction sale?

Just can's tell without more pictures. Google Earth and other image sites-looks like an old yard but not OLD. I couldn't spot anything really HAMB friendly, but who knows without close ups?

Here's the man's obituary. Died over a year ago. Can't really think they've let the good stuff sit and rot for a full year, but maybe. Looking at Yelp and stuff, typical yard-can't always get in. Like to watch folks at the gate for an hour and never come out. This might be fun to follow.

May be some rusty gold there, may be a bunch of rusty junk, hard to tell. To far away for me anyway.

  11. BTW, even though it's difficult to tell from the pics above, Leroy did have quite a bit of HAMB-friendly stuff. I bought a lot of parts from him back in the 70's and 80's.

  12. Trust me! It is a legit HAMB yard. Amazing collection of build-able 1950s vehicles. More pictures will be posted soon as weather improves! Nick

Al least you can get to them, most old junk yards pack them in too tight.

  17. As far as I know it's the same number. He's only there on rare occasions. I've been trying to get in there for several weeks. Nick

Looks like some worthwhile stuff there, what are his prices like? I hope most of it can be sold/salvaged. High scrap prices make me worried about collections like this.

Leroy had a very nice '56 Nomad in crocus yellow and laurel green.
Several Pontiac Safaris ('55-'56). I bought a few parts for my Nomad off those Safaris.
