Happy New Year @rytang...while we are gently tapping our feet kinda like these fellas below...we await you return to The Desoto Wave...Hope the recovery from the injury is near over...this garage stuff is a serious playground.

Question for you...you being an artist did you ever render a vision of this Custom in it's finished bliss? If so could you let us have a peak...maybe you did several angles...we're all eyes don'tcha know...;)

  4. He's on Instagram. Car looks the same, but this picture is a great rear length shot of it. Injured hand, married ... hell, guy has to work ... but I too hope he plays with this project again.

Taking 4 inches from the core support 20180915_140633.jpg cuts made 20180915_152057.jpg section removed 20180915_152125.jpg outter core frame sectioned 4 inches 20180916_162216.jpg sectioned core support. 20180916_170913.jpg 20180916_170918.jpg 20180916_170947.jpg now to attack the sides. After taking 4 inches out, you can see nothing lined back up. 20180919_102146.jpg bringing sides together. This changed the angle as well. This bring me problems later, but it had to be done. 20180919_115146.jpg cutting out the shitty areas that didn't line up 20180919_142550.jpg and sectioning in new pieces, using old pieces 20180919_173604.jpg this half is done 20180919_173610.jpg 20180919_173618.jpg now for this half. Planning my cuts 20180920_102651.jpg bringing edges together 20180920_110951.jpg filler piece 20180920_113921.jpg welded 20180920_131034.jpg ground 20180922_111452.jpg filler piece welded 20180922_135923.jpg old cut out 20180922_121704.jpg old pieces sectioned back in and ground 20180922_165224.jpg done now Sandblast and primer. And move onto the next set of problems. 20180922_165309_HDR.jpg sorry for the delay everyone. I'll try to update more often and include a ton of pictures.

    Welcome back. You never disappoint.

  20. Hello Rytang - everytime I see an update on this true Work of Art, and the fantastic thought and detail put into it, this energizes me to do mundane and no-talent tasks on my own Hamb-heap. Thanks!

If you wanted to this would make a great Amazon book when you are done, every custom fan would want one for X-mas. There arent too many good (modern) project books out there.

Just skipped thruw and then started from page one and read the hole story. What a tremendously build and craftsman job. Very nice ideas. Thank you for charing the pictures. This build shows pretty good how much work there is for sectioning a body. Keep on.

Hey Rytang, been watching since the start! Great stuff! I was hoping you could share your tools and techniques for your welds and finishing. It always looks really good and straight.
