So a few years back, I come across a 1958 F100 Big window that @johntomferg had forsale in Tennessee, of which my brother purchased. the truck has been moved around the shop a few times, as well as driven a little, all while I was telling him that the I6 needed to be replaces with a Y-Bock. A couple months ago he took it to an ole fella for a tune up. the guy was found via a neighbor on the lake in Hale, Michigan. Well as it turns out, this guy is an real deal, old school mechanic that jumped into the truck. After a little discussion, the plan was to just rebuild the I6, but it was found it wasn't original anyway. What better way to fix a non-original I6, but with a Y-Block. Turns out this guy is an insane Y-block builder that sends motors all over the country. So after these few years of pestering my brother, he has now set off to get the motor and trans swapped out. they are going back with a brand new 1959 292 with a 4-speed. I believe they are going to mess with the body, but I don't know those details yet. In the meantime, here is some project fun pics.

I'm real found of the Y blocks but those old Ford Sixes are hard to beat for day in day out reliability. Good looking truck there.

Don’t mess with the body... you can’t beat perfection.

The 57-60 Ford pickups were kind of the ugly duckling for quite awhile but have really caught on in the last few years. I'd love to have one, they look fantastic.

    Beautiful build your doing there.

To be clear, it’s not my build. It’s My brothers truck. He is having it built. I’m just sharing, cause the truck come from the H.A.M.B.

  10. Clean lookin' '58 & I like that your going with a Y-Block. I've got a '60 V8 truck that's allot of fun.
