Event Coverage 2019 Run What Ya Brung April 27 and again in the Fall

It's a wonderful thing having a club member who's not only a great guy, but a damn fine graphic artist!

 

New developments today! I'm sure most all have seen post #28 and the new poster, but there's more developments.
The town of Reynolds is in the middle of agricultural commerce of big proportions, among them are strawberry fields! Fate has paired up the town's annual Strawberry Festival with our event!
SDR is touting our event's car show as a feature of the festival, along with the drag racing as something to see along with the car show!
Plus the town council has joined with the festival organizing committee in inviting us to join in the Sat. morning parade!!!!!! This will start around 10:00 am and will be over well before we start racing. My local contact, Jimmy "Redsled" Whitley has talked with the police chief about what they want in the way of parade participants, and the word is no full blown race cars, should be 'street legal", which means registered and insured, but open exhaust OK Didn't ask about slicks, but mine go on at the shop before I load on the trailer, and they're staying on till I get back to my shop! And I'm driving in the parade with both BGII and somebody in my '40 coupe.
So, whether you plan to race or just spectate, if you have a car you'd like to show off, please bring it! We will find someone willing to stay and keep an eye on your gear while you're at the parade. This is a big chance for us to make something bigger and better out of our event!

What time is the parade scheduled? And will it go from the restaurant to the track? Or vice versa?

 

I have very few details as yet about the parade, but it will start about 10:00. For those of you who know a bit about Reynolds, there is a combination restaurant/convenience store/gas station/hotel, formerly called Ft. Wayne, now the "Cotton Gin" on the main drag, GA hwy 96 IIRC, across the street is a big yellow warehouse;, and behind (South) of the warehouse is where the parade will line up. The route I don't know but will find out soon as I can.
On another subject, Jimmy sent me a text today that he has reserved the big grill for us.
