  1. Installed a garage door port for winter air hose use; found the hose bound on the edge while coming off the reel and thru the door due to the angle. Bought a cheapo ATV winch fairlead, removed the lower roller so hose fit thru, and clamped it to the port flange; works like a champ.

Gearhead. This started to just be a 4x8 and now has turned into a 36x8.

DSCF9853.JPG Caught a glimpse of this Palliated Woodpecker in the back yard, they are about the size of a crow. Google it and you can see one in action. Bob

Needed to repair a leaking heater hose fitting on the 55, drained coolant down and saw it had a red film on top of it in the jug, stuck my finger in, yup transmission fluid, started to get really nervous, but I don't have an automatic, no oil cooler in the radiator either, so I thought about it awhile and decided the machinist must have used ATF to hone the cylinders and got some in the water jackets. Really glad I don't have an automatic!

Well it looks like we came to the end of the 57 wagon
    [IMG][IMG]
And today the steering box , front hubs and the rad support will be the last parts to come off the front clip
The right front lower control arm is bent and ( took a good shot ) and the rest really, just looks to crusty
The motor , I’m happy to say is going to a good home , there’s a group up here that have a living museum of vintage stock cars from the 50s ( some are the original cars that raced )
Hopefully this engine or donor parts from it will find there way on the track and help keep this thing going ......
Although it was a about 5/6 days of distraction, I can say it was fun to see what and how these cars are put together and I found some interesting parts that will no doubt find there way into the mix of future projects

I live in a woods of about 100 acres. (Not all mine.) There are a lot of dead Ash trees. I also see one of those pileated woodpeckers quite often. The real "Woody Woodpecker". When those dudes get to hammering on one of the dead ash trees it rings all through the woods.
Oh yeah! I cleaned the shop and made a trip to the scrap yard. 800 pounds of scrap. Enough to eat at the steakhouse tonight.

  12. Prepared 3 meals, washed 2 sets of bedroom sheets, took my Tacoma thru the car wash then spray waxed it and finally after 2 days of shopping online and reading catalogs I ordered new seat cover, seat springs and the foam underlayment for my old Chevelle Super Sport.
I’ve owned this Chevy for 27 years and the seams and threads are doing their final swan song.
Tomorrow I will pull the seats out and also move on to my ElCamino for some small improvements. The Roadster is getting a carburetor swap and the Super Sport need a better carburetor spacer and ignition upgrades.
Spring is coming and my punch list is growing.

Replacing old wire with new wire on a deuce.

  14. Planned to start rewiring my '51 with the Rebel Harness I got yesterday. Then I got bit by a bug and went to visit "32 Spitfire" from on here out in Baltic Ohio and bought three 8BA's from him. I have to back now to pick up the oil pans, intakes, water pumps, crankshafts, etc. later when it is warmer. Mainly just admired his '32 Brookville Roadster and '50 Oldsmobile 88. They are both beautiful cars. I'll start the rewire tomorrow.

After crating and delivering a set of '32 frame rails to a trucking depot last week I'm cutting back on the heavy lifting, listed part of a stamp collection on eBay today.
