Wow, Henry's garage, a huge wrecking yard, was at the corner of Hwy's 92 and 101 in San Mateo, Ca. Went there many times as a kid. Cars hidden all over the place. Neil Young wrote in one of his latest book about buying a Buick there, getting it running and driving it home to his ranch up in La Honda. Henry was a cool guy, had a '73 Boattail Riviera and was VERY protective of his cars and yard. They tore it out in the late '80s I think because it had become an"eyesore"' like so many great wrecking yards in the bay area fell victim to.

thought the shadow of the guy in the rear was a goatee! that does look like johnny horton--"battle of new orleans," "north to alaska"; he started out as a rockabilly artist. died young.

appeared in "for those who think young" as james darrin's car. also seen in an episode of "perry mason." if you've seen "chasing classic cars" on the "motor trend" channel, it was featured in an episode. apparently well-built and in great shape!

Dualie :) View attachment 4185767 [/QUOTE] This is Stan Lomelino. From Central Illinois. He was a great friend and mentor to my dad who traveled a lot with Stan racing in the mid and late 50’s. This car required so much work to drive he quickly did away with it, he did run another twin motor Flathead car that was pretty successful. He doesn’t get much credit and isn’t well known other than around here but he won many many races with fuel Flathead cars. Some well after OHV motors were dominating.
Edit: Here is a short video of Stan’s later twin.

I do this in my classics; not seen much anymore and gets attention - as in don't rear end me you fool...

I note the more savvy bikers do this too, perhaps for the same reason.
