Wow this is only the second alluminum 4bbl intake I've seen. And the last one was a boat intake. I"d have been all over it for $255 and I don't have a cad motor at the moment!

    49-56 is 363-1726
    57 is 363-1727
    58-62 is 363-1728 without A/C and 363-1729 with A/C

All part numbers are without the pulley.

I didn't really want a conversation piece. I wouldn't have used it on anything, so I moved on.

I looked for years for an aluminum 4bbl. I'm not really in the market for conversation pieces either, but i'd totally have set that back for a future build. I know I'll have another cad eventually

That’s gonna kill the holy grail collectors and eBay profiteers.

I’ve been holding off taking the 390 to the machine shop, because I thought they would never actually finish. I bet they are glad to go to production, just so I will shut up.

I doubt it. I think the Offy is the best looking 3x2 ever made for any engine.

The 390 Cad in my '40 contains an "Isky 270".
Other than a 650 Holley & an aluminum wheel it's a stock build.
Stock with the cam & 10:1 plus compression makes it a nice torque motor, great mid range, like the ad says.
With that said after reading your posts, this isn't the cam for you, not enough noise at the tailpipe.

I don’t know if it will handle too much more with the limitations on the valve springs. Maybe a beehive spring would help?

Post up a video of the exhaust notes!

  20. What valve springs and retainers are you using with the Isky 270?

With the Isky 270, I used new stock springs with a .060 shim.
Retainers are stock with the umbrellas cut off.
Guides are cut to use good seals plus gain clearance for the retainer at full lift.
    Works for me.

  22. Thanks! I have Isky springs for mine, but haven't gotten around to dealing with the retainers yet...

    HELLO,
I'M LOOKING FOR SOME BLOCK DIMENSIONS TO BUILD A SCALE REPLICA OF AN EARLY CADILLAC ENGINE 49-62, WOULD ANYONE KNOW THE LENGTH & WIDTH OF THE OIL PAN SURFACE, VALLEY PAN SURFACE & THE HEIGHT OF THE BLOCK FROM THOSE TWO SURFACES?
ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

    THANK YOU

  28. Oil pan surface is 22” x 11-1/8”
    Valley cover surface is 18 -1/2” x 6-1/4”
Height between the two is 8-3/4”

Let me know if you need any more dimensions.
