Hot Rods Lets see sedan deliveries - ONLY HAMB MEMBERS PLEASE

Hi Ron,
I am very envious that you guys were able to keep your old cars all of these years. Somehow, our old cars had to leave in order for the next generation of cars to show up. But, it is a nice touch on the rear view camera for your chopped sedan delivery. If (by chance) a new/old 40 Ford Sedan Delivery wagon would show up next week in our driveway, wrapped in a big red bow, that rear view camera would be an excellent addition.
(I am texting this to my wife as a big hint. The sedan delivery and the camera!)

I'll put in a good word to Santa for you Jnaki! I shouldn't talk about the camera on this site. Notice its mounted on the rear tag. And I use Velcro for the screen on the dash. It's easy to unplug and put away.

 

Cars & Grandkids - nothing better. He's 19 now, finished welding course, 1st year of CNC Machinest course. The delivery (327/TH400/Bel Air interior) was a former US Forestry Service vehicle that is now long gone. Saw it for sale some years back as a NOMAD!!

 

This is my old delivery I purchased while I was in West Point. The current owner just passed but it is not for sale.

 

That sedan delivery is above and beyond any comparison for good looks and sits just right...

Thanks for building/driving such a cool Ford Sedan Delivery. If it were red (salmon pink), it could be a twin to our first and second 40 Ford Sedan Delivery drivers. Ours were both supposedly painted a red/orange, the first came out salmon pink, the second more racer orange than red.

Yours has the attitude of drive me, now. It is a great build, color combo, and another hot rod that has stayed with the same owner for 39 years…impressive. Ours are, as the old saying goes... "Gone With The Wind."

So, one day(s) I was messing around with an old green Ford Sedan Delivery model car and it gave me a great idea. You have been a wealth of knowledge on the various threads here on the HAMB. This 1/64 model is a So Cal version of your car, complete with real rubber tires. It took me a while to get it close enough to be a twin to your car. The original plastic tires and gold rims...gone.

Here the green/black Ford Sedan Delivery is playing around with his friends, my red 1965 El Camino and my custom version of the red flamed cement mixer truck that has been all over So Cal, since the late 60’s. My So Cal garage, like most garages is getting cold, so the 1/64 models are taking a break until it warms up out there. But, it is fun to roll them around inside of the house when finished.
I am still looking around my parts bin and local stores for the yellow fog lights to keep it updated.

Playing around with cars never gets old, although we all are...

Got this about 3 weeks ago. Lots to do to "make it mine". Some of the first things will be getting rid of the orange plex windows and getting a dropped headlight bar.

Had this 1956 / 1957 OPEL a while ago. Got a good offer for it so that was that.

Repairs to this body getting close to finished. Has a 1 piece frame, LA built. I'll load up all the parts to complete it & sell it in the spring.

It now sits in my Dads barn with a half inch of dust on it awaiting another engine and trans. It will run again. Hopefully next year.

We have owned two other 40 ford sedan deliveries, 10 years apart. There were several other cars in between the 10 years. We kept the second one for about 4 years. I am still, to this day, amazed as to how people keep their old cars and still continue to buy others, too. We have always been in a sell one to buy another mode. Maybe it was the lack of storage space, although my mom would have allowed us to park a hot rod inside of that old converted garage from the 60s in her house in Long Beach.

Back in 2017, we got on the new idea that owning/modifying another hot rod would be very cool. I was inspired with my old Lions drag racing films, being invited to the opening of the Lions Dragstrip museum, and just hanging around the coupes, sedans and trucks spurred on some old feelings.

My wife must have sensed something as she began to see more hot rods and cruisers on the street before I did. But, knew that as enthusiastic as we (I am) these old bones are on their leisure time activities stage, that did not include building/modifying a hot rod/truck/station wagon again. (One small thing at a time…)

So, she suggested that I buy a new digital camera with a 30x powerful zoom, and 20+mp crystal clear photos in all angles/distances. It was to join our long line of original 35mm film cameras, and countless little digital cameras with Leica, Zeiss, Nikkor and Canon lenses. Our 35mm Asahi Pentax film camera and new (never been used) Canon Ae2 (plus a new 2.8 300-600x auto telephoto lens)still are hanging around, too. (the Canon, telephoto, other lenses and accessories have never been used and are for sale)

So, yes, there is some kind of fixation with cameras all the way back to fiddling with my dad’s big 4x5 Graflex Bellows Camera in 1949. I guess, cameras and photography are similar to owning a line of hot rods. Use them for whatever brings you lots of happiness. (No phone cameras for this old time photojournalist.) Currently, the fixation is on hold, as a hot rodder/drag racer, I need to get a new, more powerful, lightweight laptop since it is taking over the leisure time, these days. Cameras, photos and computers, a great modern series to make life easier.

The car, on hold, the camera, any day, now (although I am making my old digital ones work well until they die)…and the fast, powerful laptop…we are looking at one this coming week, after the rains die down.

I looked at this one awhile back, I wanna say it is a 48 maybe a 1 ton. Runs and drives and he asked me 35 hundred for it.

 

Also for sale in the classifieds. '35 Chevy std, real steel one except for fenders and running boards.
