When this was in the salvage yard someone must have needed the shock. We ended up burning the nuts off and saving the wrench. Pretty cool find would love to know how long ago that was added to the vehicle.

I'm guessing this isn't your first rodeo, I always check the back ground in photos, nice welding helmet collection. What is that aluminum thing on the floor , behind the Coupe? Bob

I am a high school Collision repair instructor. The item I believe you are referring to is our frame machine. I will attach a video from last year we had to make for a grant and you can check out the rest of the shop as well. Don't mind all the talking I do that was for the grant.

Looks like a great project to me! Grafting the coupe roof/quarters/cowl to the sedan will be the way i'd do it..I've done a 40 Willys and a 33 Coupe in a similar fashion starting with 4 dr. sedans as a platform..I'm sure you have a plan already in mind. Gonna be awesome when done!

I'm guessing a previous owner looked into the effort and cost of locating and purchasing replacement pieces for one or two broken (or missing) stock units, then decided, "Eff it. I'll install something cheaper!"

That's an ambitious but doable project.
That is quite a school shop you have and as a former auto mechanics teacher I appreciate the fact that you are looking to get the latest equipment to train the students with so they are well prepared to go into a top quality shop and go to work.

Collision Repair is what I studied my Jr. and Sr. years in high school, Tri County JVS, Nelsonville, Ohio, Class of 1979. Will be watching.

Started the repair process on the coupe doors today. Taking parts from the sedan and repairing the bottom of the coupe. Will be putting new skins on it after all the inner structure is repaired.

I wish I could find a coupe like that in my part of the world, even as rough as this one. Heck even a 4 door sedan would make me happy.

Great work going on here! When you post pictures, it would be nice if you would select to post them as full sized images instead of as thumbnails, it would make it easier for those of us following your build!

I noticed the I CAR banner in the background. Do you work with I CAR on any training for the student's? I ask as in my profession as a damage appraiser we have to maintain at least gold certified.

I teach high school students, each student is eligible for a I-Car platinum certification in high school. I can also certify them to I car standards for welding steel and aluminum.

That is awesome! With the cars and technology now a days its very helpful. I know I use it daily in the field. There's not enough youth getting into collision repair now a days so thanks for all you do. From a damage appraiser with a major carrier thank you for carrying the torch. Plz tell your student's that we appreciate everything their doing to learn from the best(you) and enjoy it.

That is tempting but I have too many projects right now, I said that because it's a car I love, I already passed a $1000 '32 ford delivery and a cheap '35 ford sedan delivery because of what I already have and lack of space.
